Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Is this safe for the cats to lick off their fur
Answer by ChewyMay 14, 2020
The drying time for Sentry Pro Flea & Tick Spray for Dogs & Cats is about 5 to 6 minutes. It would be ideal for you to prevent your dog/cat from grooming during this time frame. If your dog/cat does lick some of the wet spray, you may see some drooling or foaming at the mouth. This is from the taste of the product and should go away once the dog/cat eats or drinks something. After the spray has dried, there should be no concerns with the dog/cat licking his fur.

Holding this 8-10 inches while spraying to get the animal wet seems pretty difficult not to inhale or get in animal's eyes. Can I get some clarification here? And what if they lick their fur?
Answer by ChewyJan 30, 2019
The face should be avoided when spraying this on your pet and should either air dry or be blow dried before the dog or cat can lick their fur.

Does the spray go on before or after a bath? Do I spray the animal skin while dry?
Answer by ChewyOct 17, 2018
Shake well before use. To kill fleas and ticks, spray at a distance of 8 to 12 inches. Spray over entire haircoat making sure the coat is thoroughly wetted to the skin. As you spray, fluff the hair so the spray will penetrate to the skin. Make sure spray wets ticks thoroughly. Spray against the lay of the hair, roughing the hair on long-haired dogs or cats. Do not spray into the eyes, face or genitalia. When applied at the label dose rate, the dog or cat should not be retreated more frequently than once every 14 days. Lighter applications will reduce period of effectiveness, may result in earlier reinfestation and may require more frequent retreatment. Allow dog or cat to air dry or blow dry. Do not towel dry. This product is formulated to leave the hair coat soft and manageable for grooming.

Where on earth are the ingredients listed? Of course I would want to know what I am putting on my pet. Very strange there are no instructions or ingredients listed. Maybe an oversight?

Extra protection in a bad tick season

I use a monthly application of another type but like to spritz my dog with this when I know we are going to be hiking through long grass. So far, it has worked well and I have not seen any ticks on her.

Pretty Good

I used up most of the bottle in three rooms, and found only one flea once in a while afterward. I'm going to try another bottle for follow-up.

Smell was tolerable and worked for 3 dogs

Used this product in addition to vinegar spray before the dogs went to the backyard. Scratching appears to have abated. I'm on the 3rd week post application and so far so good.

Lasts up to a week!

We're a licensed non-commercial rescue kennel and fleas are just part of the territory. We stumbled upon this product in an emergency situation now it's a regular staple in our flea control. Easy to apply, kills fleas on contact, lasts up to a week, and has a pleasant scent. I now see this brand makes other products...we're going to try them out too. What do we have to lose except a whole lot of fleas.

No instant results

We got some relief from this topical spray having used it in conjunction with a home carpet and upholstery spray and following a thorough flea shampoo bath. Immediate effects were positive but it just didn't last. Within 2 days we were scratching again. That said, the product has a very palatable smell and is therefore easier to get in close during use. Brushing hair against the grain and spraying onto skin until evenly moist all over (belly & legs included) went smoothly and quickly. Spray then air dries ( no toweling off) in an hour or so (humidity is a factor in drying time) and left our pooches relatively "fresh" scented for a flea treatment. Summary: effective but multiple treatments have been necessary. We are applying again this weekend in conjunction with a home flea fogger this time. Wish us luck.

Works well with soresto collars

I bought this to use as a topical for two of my dogs who has flea allergies. The seresto collars work great but found out flea has to bite to kill them so needed a little repellant to go along. Works well. Also use it on my feral cats even though i have to sneak up on them. Works well.

Smells good, low price, safe, and my dogs usually run when I come at them with spray but this brand they don't.
