So far , so good . It was easier to program than my last feeder that I returned . The meal portions are by number and the instructions could be much better , but I figured it out by trial and error and I think its working pretty well .
I work crazy hours and I purchased this so at least my dogs could have some consistency. It worked great for the first 5 months and then it would randomly reprogram itself. Instead of meals "dropping" at a certain time the time would change to 5 or 6 hours later and dramatically reduce the food for no reason. The batteries were fine so all I can assume is that this product has a pathetic lifespan.
I love my dog with all my heart but I do want to kill her at 5am when she paws the side of my bed, right next to my head, and wines until 7am. I have tried to ignore her, to train her that breakfast is not till 7am, but it doesn't work and I just get grumpy and cranky. My husband doesn't like me grumpy and cranky, heck I don't even like me grumpy and cranky but I need my beauty sleep. Our Labradork learned very quickly how this device works and now she isn't harassing me in the morning anymore because she has learned that I'm not the one feeding her anymore. It's amazing! Worth every single penny. I would even pay more pennies for it. My husband loves it too. Please, Chewy, can you also make a timed husband feeder dispenser? Then my life would be complete.
So far so good! This unit is quite substantial & well made. It's a punishment for our furbabies that don't overeat but definatly helps our over indulge. We are hoping to eventually return to an on demand feeder too & get our chubby baby out of the habit of grazing all day.
Unit is smaller than stated won’t be able to supply enough food for my hound what a shame.
Does the job! You can set up the feeder with up to four meal times and each meal time can be programmed with a custom portion. Default configuration is for larger portion sizes but you can unscrew & swap that out for smaller portions (which comes included). One week in and no issues so far.
I bought 2 feeders for my 2yr. old and 6 month old dogs. Works as described. Only down fall with multiple feeders is that one of them is loosing about 2 seconds a week and has to be reset so the feeders dispense food at the same time or the dogs fight over the one dispensing first. I have 2 different amounts being dispensed from the feeders.
I was going out of town and trying to figure out how to feed my feral cats that sleep in my garage. Perfect solution. I bought two and they work like a charm. I haven’t seen anything get stuck which stops them from turning and dispensing as I have read in a few reviews, but if I do I will update. Also you receive two spin wheels in each box, one which is installed and a second of a different size for dispensing smaller kibble. I have seen a couple of reviews upset with the size of kibble they can feed (too big or too small based on wheel). Be assured you can change it out if the one installed is too big so kitty can’t get into her kibble from below.
Ordered this hoping it would feed the 3 feral cats I care for while I'm on vacation. They each get approx 1 cup of dry food in the morning. That equates closely to the 39 (max) portions this feeder supports. The problems: 1. the feeder dispenses approx 1.5 tbsp at a time (1 portion). 2. It didn't dispense the 2nd, 3rd, etc... portions until I had manually pulled the previously delivered food down into the tray. 3. Specifically for my purposes, this won't cover feedings for a 7 day vacation at the max setting This would likely work fine for a single pet that sits at the bowl and will actively paw at or eat all the food dispensed quickly. The lid is secure... You have the option of either 3 D cell batteries for power or plugin. Came with a 2nd dispensing carroll, for smalller portion sizes
This product is really good. Safe us time and it is good to have food ready for our dog.
