That was a little scary to think about, so I thought I'd try Seresto instead. My dog is in the woods on a daily basis behind our house. Never found a flea or tick on him, even after finding out he spent a couple days in a family member's house who was infested with fleas (and tried to blame my dog for it, despite their 2 cats and 1 dog who are all untreated). You do have to understand that no product can fully "prevent" an insect from landing on a dog. That's just not logical when your dog is scurrying through the woods. We got the second collar and put it on in March of 2019, and had it properly tensioned and installed. He was even to the vet in April and they checked it while he was there, and in May of 2019 my Wife watched a fully engorged tick fall off of our BC. When I got home, I searched him as best I could with his thick fur and found another Tick that had just begun feeding that was still alive. At this point we switched to Bravecto and will see how that works, but I can no longer trust Seresto for our dog. That said, we have never seen a flea on our dog or in our house. If you live in an area that isn't at risk for tick borne illness this collar would work fine for you, but it doesn't cut it in the Lyme's hotbed that is Pennsylvania. … more
