Active Ingredients: Flumethrin 4.5%, Imidacloprid 10.0%.
Use only one collar per animal. Fit collar around your pet's neck, allowing for 2 fingers to fit between the collar and your pet's neck to ensure a comfortable, yet snug, fit. Once collar is properly fitted, cut off any excess collar measuring 1" or longer. The collar should be worn continuously for the 8 month protection period. Check periodically and adjust fit if necessary, especially when puppies are rapidly growing. Keep the collar in the bag and in the outer packaging until use. Replace the collar after 8 months for optimal tick and flea protection.
Water Resistance: It is unnecessary to remove the collar before immersing your pet in water. Seresto remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or exposure to rain or sunlight. In order to maintain an 8 month duration, pets must not be bathed more than once a month. For pets that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to five months for fleas and seven months for ticks.

Fleas are very hardy pests that are quite capable of hitching rides on a variety of mammals. Wild animals or feral pets traveling through the environment may be a source for a pet’s exposure.Fleas may be brought to the house by: * You – attached to clothing, luggage, dog blankets, etc. * Your pet – any time your pet steps outside your house, they are potentially exposed to fleas, especially in areas where there are other animals. * Stray or homeless cats and dogs – since these animals are not being cared for, they are easy targets for fleas. A single feral cat walking through your backyard even just one time may drop many flea eggs into the grass or under shrubs. * Wildlife – particularly raccoons and opossums. These animals typically aren’t seen very often, because they are active at night. A single opossum can carry as many as 1,000 adult fleas! An opossum walking through your backyard even just one time can drop many flea eggs into the grass or under shrubs as they pass through. * Non-treated pets in the household – most dogs are treated for fleas and ticks. Often, the cats in the household are not, especially if they are indoor only cats. * Non-treated pets in the neighborhood – you may be vigilant about treating your pets for fleas, but your neighbor(s) may not.
Inside the unique polymer matrix of Seresto are two active ingredients:
Imidacloprid has been used in products for years to control flea infestations.
Flumethrin effectively repels and kills ticks.Flumethrin works together with imidacloprid to provide dual action against fleas and ticks. No other treatment has this combination of ingredients. The active ingredients spread from the site of direct contact over the skin surface of the cat or dog.*Sustained release technology*Seresto works similarly to a monthly topical, but as the active ingredients wear off over time, a new supply is continuously replenished in low concentrations. The active ingredients spread from the site of direct contact over the skin surface.Bayer's polymer matrix technology is designed to slowly and continuously release the active ingredients for eight months, a duration that makes it clearly different from other flea and tick collars.
Seresto is water resistant. The active ingredients of Seresto are contained within the Bayer Polymer Matrix, making it water-resistant. Therefore it is unnecessary to remove the collar before the pet is immersed in water. Seresto remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming, or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for eight months. In order to maintain an 8-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to five months for fleas and seven months for ticks.
Because some pet owners may be concerned that a cat or small dog could get stuck while wearing a collar, Seresto is designed with a safety release mechanism. In the unlikely event of the cat being trapped, the cat's own strength is sufficient to widen the collar to allow for quick release.A hard pull causes the ratchet-release mechanism to allow a widening of the collar. The small dog and cat collars are equipped with a predetermined breaking point. A harder pull triggers the breaking of the collar at this point.
There is no expiration date required on the packaging by the EPA for this product. The product should be kept in its original packaging and stored as directed on the label.

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

I've lived at the same place for 3 years. We never had a flea issue. A couple of months ago they began to pop up out of nowhere. I used a treat pill to try to clear it up. That didn't work. I bought the liquid flea medicine that goes on their back. That didn't work. At this point my dog was chewed up so badly by fleas I thought he'd need a vet. His entire underbelly was covered in red inflamed bites and scabs. It was absolutely horrendous looking. I bathed him normally, used waterless shampoo, put benadryl cream on him, ointment, etc to clear him up. On the 3rd month I bought this collar. In 2 weeks he's almost completely healed up and there's no more fleas. He's happy again and so much less miserable and itchy. This collar has been a life saver.
I have 2 German shorthairs & a small toy fox terrier mix , I always use the seresto on the terrier year round but for the shorthairs I only use in the colder months due to them always going swimming . I have been using breveto in the warmer/hot months but once colder days I switch to these collars & have not had any issues with fleas or ticks . We live amid farms & other people's dogs that are are not treated for fleas/ticks , also my husband hunts & lots of times when he skins a deer ticks crawl every where in the yard but when my dogs are outside right after the skinning if the dogs get near a tick or two they might crawl on them but do not get a chance to bite they die or leap off . I replace the collar on my terrier every 7 months , I have learned it was much better working when replaced in 7 months instead of the 8 month term .
I have bought this collar for several years but the last ones I bought are not working. I have 2 dogs and they have been scratching and biting themselves. I gave them a bath today and had a flea on me and several in the bath water. This has never happened before and they have always lasted the full 8 months. I bought these 2 on Dec. 2nd and they lasted only 1 month. They are too expensive not to work and I see the price went up $10.
Seresto was bought by Elanco in 2020 and is no longer under Bayer! Something has changed since the switch and these no longer work! I have used these collars for years with no issues but am currently battling a full blown flea infestation. What was once a one and done (at least for 8 months) preventative is gone, look elsewhere!
To start off I've used these for 4 years. It worked really good but has never lasted the full 8 months and that's with me always taking it off for baths or any water involved. These collars are either being made different the last years but I have bought 6 collars starting Dec 2021 and used all in year bc my dog has had so many fleas abs they never left all year. We are on #6 now and been on 1 and half months. He has so many fleas still. I'll be switching now. I was fine switching at 6 months. if they are supposed to work 8 months and I'm switching at 4 months or less bc they're not doing anything anymore. These are not cheap by any means and I'm done. Baths every week with dawn flea shampoo anything u can think of and still no results. This last collar being the worst yet. Not being on 2 months and they cost $70 a piece. Go back to the old formula or tell people they last 4 months or less not the gimmick of 8 bc they've never lasted 8 for me maybe 6 and that's pushing it. Done with seresto.
Been using this product on my 90 lb lab four several years.this fall I noticed her scratching and noticed she had several fleas.the collar was going on the fifth month. Called the support number and told them of the problem.after answering a few questions I told them she swims weekly in the summer.they said that was probably the issue and you need to replace the collar more frequently than 8 months.they sent me a new collar witch was great but the fleas remained.after another month I called again and told them my dog is still had fleas.they then send me a frontline collar to work with the seresto collar after a few more weeks they were gone.
I find goods for my pets on chewy that I can't find anywhere else. I like that if I want to support an animal shelter I can send them food directly from chewy. I appreciate the auto ship so that I can count on my pet needs being met. Thank you Chewy!
My pup is not infested by any means, we just can't seem to get rid of the few he has. When I bathe him he will have maybe 5-10. All bedding is up, there's no carpet, everything is swept, he's only in one part of the yard. I thought this collar would do the trick along with our weekly bath and all the other tricks. But my dog still has fleas on his tail after almost 2 weeks of using this collar.
These collars work great on all my dogs and cat. However, they advertise that they work for 8 months. I can usually get 5-6 out of one collar. Not an issue for us though because this is still a cheaper and more effective options for my crew.
I bought each of my dogs one of these (totaling over $500). Gave everyone a bath before putting them on and even did a eatible to ensure the collar has a chance against SC fleas! I sprayed the yard, bedding, etc...the collars did NOTHING! I was hoping to spend a little less than what the vet has to offer, but now know it is not worth it. Terribly disappointed!
