Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.
Help your dog lead the pack with long-lasting 8 month protection from Elanco. This easy-to-use, non-greasy, odorless collar kills and repels fleas and ticks for eight continuous months with daily wear, and can even help treat and control sarcoptic mange and lice. Get the performance you expect from a monthly treatment in an economical collar for convenient, effective protection.
With Seresto, fleas and ticks are killed and repelled through contact, with no biting required. The active ingredients stored within the collar release in low concentrations with daily wear and distribute over your dog's skin and coat from head to tail for effective coverage. As the active ingredients wear off over time, the collar continuously replenishes the skin and coat with a new supply, for 8 continuous months.
The veterinarian-recommended Seresto collar is non-greasy and helps avoid the inconvenience of applying monthly treatments. If fleas and ticks are repelled, they cannot bite and transmit dangerous diseases. It also helps to treat and control sarcoptic mange and kill lice. Seresto also doesn't interfere with your dog's regular collar and can easily be worn simultaneously.
Seresto brings convenience to every pet owner with lasting 8 month protection against fleas and ticks. Plus, Seresto works through contact which means fleas and ticks don't have to bite for the active ingredients to work. It's also available without a prescription, so it's just one less step to take care of.
Seresto is water-resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an eight-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control.
Seresto is manufactured by Elanco, a leading name in the healthcare industry for over 150 years. Seresto kills and repels fleas and ticks for eight continuous months in one easy-to-use, non-greasy, odorless collar. It effectively kills fleas and ticks and is veterinarian-recommended, so you can feel confident knowing that your pet is getting effective protection.
So I was a little skeptical about these collars before I purchased them. I had read some reviews online and they were very back and forth, but I decided to go for it anyway! I live in Southeastern North Carolina, and the fleas and ticks rear their heads a lot earlier in the year, so I thought I'd get a head start. The first few days of my dogs wearing the collars, I was tempted to just take them off because it seemed like it was making them itch MORE. I then realized they aren't used to wearing collars at all (we are a harness house for outdoor activities) so I gave it a few more days and I am so glad we stuck it out! The dogs have been wearing the collars for about 2 weeks, and the difference is dramatic. No fleas anywhere, and the dogs are so much more comfortable. Glad I already turned the autoship on so I don't even have to worry when its time to reorder!
This is my favorite flea and tick option for many reasons. My dogs do not reactive negatively to them in any way. I have never seen a flea on them and the only ticks I have seen were ones that had just crawled on them during a hike or were dead. I believe they do not prevent the ticks from biting them, but they kill them after they do. I wish that it did a better job at repelling them all together. We have been using these collars with out 2 dogs for 3 years now. I buy new ones when the weather starts to warm up and just keep them on through the winter. So 12 months, not 8 months (but they are at their strongest during peak seasons)
This Seresto collar is the way to go. We live in an area where ticks are plentiful. And our dogs love to chase and catch rabbits. This is an amazing protection collar. We generally take it off of them when they swim to prolong the life of the collar. And ‘Chewy’ is an amazing company to offer auto ship. And if I have any problems or questions about my order, they are very prompt to reply and assist. I tell my friends that have pets to utilize Chewy. Love it!
I noticed it is not Bayer anymore, my previously was from Europe. I washed my dog with flea shampoo and put this new Elanco collar. After 4 days I still do not see result, my dogs still itching, and I see fleas still when I brush him with fleas comb. I know every one is different and maybe it is dog personal things, we will continue use it but I doubt it is same as used be.
I switched one of my dogs to the collar after he had a horrible attack of pancreatitis after his 2nd dose (ever) of Nexguard -- we had switched after many years of using FrontlinePlus which was losing it's potency. Not 100% sure the Nexguard triggered the pancreatitis, but definitely a possibility given it came on one day later and was the only odd thing he ingested. Don't love the fact he must wear an extra collar nonstop, but it has no odor and seemed to do the trick (no sign of fleas or ticks). Only just learned it does NOT protect 8 months against ticks (only 4 months for those), so will need to swap it out more frequently then I thought. Oh, and also the glow in the dark clips don't work (plus I figured they might rub against his neck too much, but they never glowed in the dark anyway). It also stays put once I put it on him, never came off (unless I took it off) in 8 months. They shouldn't get away with the "8 month protection" blurb the front of the tin, however, given that only applies to fleas.
we have used these collars for several years now and love them. They keep all fleas off our dogs and kill all ticks that we find. We actually keep them on all year since we live in a mild climate. We change them every March to make sure to be strongest for tick season. They still keep fleas gone all 12 months.
I've been using these collars for a few years now. We hike in the woods and fields with our dogs every day and ticks are a real problem in southern Ohio. They come home each day without a tick or flea on them! It couldn't be any easier and no more liquid on me or them every month-I hated that!
Purchased collars because I have used them for years. This time they were horrible. Chewy even sent me a replacement collar and here we’re a month later and still not working. They’re definitely not what they used to be or worth the money. I just bought sentry from my vet and so far so good!
Moved from the city to a more suburban area that borders lots of wooded areas. my property, in particular, opens up into a state preserve. as such, ticks are a big issue. we've been here 8 motnhs now, just swapped to our second seresto collar, and have never had a tick!
We live in a heavily tick infested area. I tried natural preventatives but they just didn't work. I don't like the topicals. My vet recommended Seresto. That was a few years ago. While not perfect, Seresto does do the job.
