Great so far!
I probably shouldn't be writing a review so early, as we haven't used them for actual travel yet. For starters, they arrived a day ahead of schedule, which was amazing. Got them unpacked and set up, then proceeded to put our two cats in them via the top panel. I would love to regale you with a tale fraught with peril about how difficult it was to get them inside... but it really wasn't. Sure, they protested a little about being unceremoniously dropped in, but aside from what was essentially a few minor grumblings, they sat very contentedly until I opened the side panel a few minutes later. In fact, one of them is still sitting in it, quite comfortably! We did notice a small issue with one of the clips for the shoulder strap, but I am confident that it can be finagled into service. While they are a little more expensive than the standard plastic hard-sided carriers, so far I'm convinced that it was worth it.
My New Kittie Loves This Carrier
Adopted a cat from shelter two weeks ago. The foster parent leant me this carrier to take her home. I love it because it is light and will be easy for me when she has to go to vet. More importantly, she loves it. She has the run of the house now but spends a lot of time sleeping in the carrier and looking out the window. She claimed it as hers by continuously rubbing on it. So I kept this one and bought a new one just like it to give to the foster parent who was sheltering her.
so far so good, a very satisfactory purchase
I understand that all pets are picky in their own ways so what might be a great product for some may be a terrible one for others. I'm glad to report that this ended up being a worthy purchase in my experience! My 12 lb cat does not appreciate being stuck/placed in the carrier to and from vet visits. He didn't even want to go near this product. However, when we first got the carrier, I left it on the ground and put some catnip inside to spark his attention - now, he takes his daily naps or bedtime inside.
Great bag but smaller than I thought it would be
I already had a sherpa bag that I had forever and needed a new one. I bought the cat size one thinking it would be the same-- apparently not-- I had the medium. My cat is less than the # of inches specified but it still feels cramped. That said, I know cats like small spaces and I like having something I can take him on a plane with. Great bag, you may just want to upsize if you have a large cat
i wanted something more secure and comfortable for the cats to travel in. this was a great find. cats love it, spacious enough they can turn around (11 and 15 lbs). only complaint is it can be not as supportive if they move around while you carry it, even with the support board in. this is likely because you can fold it for storage.
Well made carrier
I love this little Sherpa carrier! It is super well made and they thought of everything! Lots of pockets for little items and two zippered entry areas, one on top and one on the side. Plus, it has a shoulder strap AND a hand grip for different carrying needs. It’s just really a well made, well designed pet carrier.
Perfect for our dog
We replaced our old carrier with the same model and found nice improvements. The zippers appear to have a better quality as well as the straps. I like the addition of the side strap that allows you to fix the carrier to your luggage as well as to a car seat. The base seems more sturdy and most importantly our dog loves it!
Perfect for both my cats
I have one cat who is tall with long legs and one cat who has short legs, the carrier fits them both. I have the carrier in the living room so they can lay down in it and get used to it. They enjoy that more than they do the plastic carrier.
Easy for me to carry, comfy for kitty
I had a heavy plastic carrier. The weight of the carrier and the cat was too much. This tote doesn't add much additional weight and makes transporting much easier. I also like that is collapsible for storage. There is also a little pocket in the back so you can pet your cat when stationary.
good for larger cats
I have a 13lb cat that hates going into carriers. It was very easy to get her in from the top and easy to quickly zip it so she wouldn’t escape. While at the vet she felt safe enough in it to return to it herself after the exam without me having to lift her in. Very helpful to have multiple ways to open and get her inside.
