About Sherpa Travel Pet Carriers
Sherpa Travel Pet Carriers
Sherpa Travel Carriers are airline-approved carriers that let your pet travel comfortably on the go, in the car or on walks. They are easy to use and durable enough to keep your pet safely contained and protected.
Fits Under Most Airline Seats
Sherpa Carriers with a built-in spring-wire frame allow you to push down the rear side of the carrier several inches. This helps them fit under most airline seats in compliance with airline requirements and FAA regulations. The flexible design makes the carrier in-cabin friendly and airline approved for most airlines.
Fly With Peace of Mind
Sherpa worked with major airlines to make a carrier that is Guaranteed On Board. Sherpa’s Guaranteed On Board program provides you the information you need for future travels with your pet and added assurance that your carrier will be allowed to fly.
Sherpa Makes Travel Easy
Sherpa Carriers feature mesh panels for ventilation, top and side entries, locking zippers for added safety and a seatbelt safety strap.
In 1989, Sherpa introduced their first soft-sided carriers so pets could fly in-cabin. Today, they continue to innovate to make traveling secure and comfortable for every pet – every day and on every trip. Whether you’re going around the block, across town or on a flight around the world, Sherpa products will help you travel with peace of mind.
I loved the size, shape and weight of this carrier. Unfortunately the day of travel one of the seams opened up. Of course the cat found this hole and shoved her head through it. I was able to staple the seam closed before we boarded the plane but it let go halfway through a six hour flight. Thankfully a fellow passenger had some bunder clips, but it was stress I didn’t need. It’s too bad because I really liked the carrier otherwise.
I have been looking for this cat carrier for a long time! I had purchased one like it back in 2005 and I needed to get a new one and I wasn't able to find it in my local pet store which is where I bought it originally, but they no longer carry cat carriers. I happen to search online at Chewy.com and I found this one. It's exactly what I was looking for, the only difference is that the first one I had was in black and white Zebra print, this time I got it in Black. Since I now have this one I tossed out the old one which was not holding up very well, but it did well for the 18 years that I used it. My cat is a large 18 lb American Shorthair and he's a very long cat, he takes up almost the entire length of this carrier. I leave it out with the front flap open all the time and he can go in it freely as he wishes. He's so very comfortable with this new carrier. I'm over the moon with delight that I finally found what I was looking for!! In my opinion it's the very best cat carrier!
Needed one new travel cage for our return home with our 2 cats. One Old hard sided one broke, This had great reviews so we order it. We read all directions and just left it open with a few occasional treats and a toy and were shocked by the results. Both cats who normally hate carriers both have been using it for naps. It seemed sturdy and well made so I ordered it , set it in a corner and now it is the favorite nap spot of both cats. It has a soft washable mat which they love. I have been considering ordering a second one so both cats will have the same carrier. I also like that it has a shoulder strap so you can be hands free. I ordered the large size as we have lots of room in our van and both cats are not small., 12-14 lbs. The cats seem to enjoy the mesh screening so they can see out. I have not moved it since I ordered it a few weeks ago. I suspect I will be ordering a second one soon as it collapses for easy storage.
We love this carrier so much we bought a third for our three cats! They collapse really nicely to take up a lot less space in storage, are easy to clean and much easier to get cats into and out of thanks to the top zipper flap. Our cats also seem to like these carriers more than the traditional hard cased as they can see and smell more through the mesh sides. Our large 15lb cat does great in the large size while our other two cats under 10lbs work great in a medium carrier. Highly recommend this product for cats small and large!
May cat hates leaving our apt and getting into the car as most cats do. I decided that his small hard carrier make things more uncomfortable so I ordered a larger, soft sided one.. It is larger, has a comfy bottom pad, side and top opening with locking zipper and best of all a shoulder comfort strap. It is more comfortable for my kitty and easier to cary my heavy cat. Of course he still crys all the way to the ve and a lot of the way home, but I feel better.
Used this to fly my 8 week old purebred European German Shepherd. Bought the medium which seemed slightly small ordered the large and received a refund for the medium. My pup did great and it fit her well. I would just suggest a better way to carry the bag. I would hold the bag from the bottom to keep her close to me and more stable. The shoulder strap didn’t seem to keep the bag steady with her inside and same with the handle straps.
This is a very well made carrier. It has two handles, so you can put a strap over your shoulder when opening doors. The hand held handle is very comfortable. Your pet has good viewing and ventilation. I bought this for a growing kitten, not knowing what size I might need. He is five months old and has plenty of room. It has nice padding. You might want to add a cover over the pad to keep it clean. I would buy it again!
Washable Sherpa liner has two sturdy Velcro strips on the bottom, which is waterproof. Mesh sides and generous top zipper opening, plus front zipper flap makes for easy entry and comfy transport.
I saw this carrier at my local pet store selling for $100. Chewy's prices beat that by 50%! We bought this initially to fly with our cat, but we decided to drive instead. This product is sturdy and has enough ventilation to help with nervous kitties. I recommend this size for cats under 13 lbs to help carry up and down stairs.
He took a sniff of the bag and jumped into it after! We played a little game of peekaboo and I’m excited to be using this bag for travels with my little brother
