Faulty zippers
I think the zippers are faulty and it kind of defeats the whole purpose. The zipper on the side gets stuck so I had trouble closing them and the zipper on top doesn't stay zipped when any pressure is put on it. I put my cat in, he pushed on the top, and jumped right out.

Nice carrier
We love this Sherpa carrier, and so do our kitties! Needed to put it away after awhile, when we first got it, because they wanted to play a little too much around it, scratching it and such. My husband and I used it for the first time yesterday, when our female kitty needed to go get a couple of booster vaccines, and we actually needed to pry our male kitty out of it in order to get her in. It is a nice size, but not too bulky, or heavy, and so would definitely recommend it.
I'm going on a plane ride!
The carrier fits the dimension s for Southwest Airlines!!! It's comfortable! I'm so excited to go home with my mom!!! Yipppeeee!
Her trip to Woofstock
I'm glad the Sherpa I ordered for Samba arrived to her in Delaware in time for her and her human mom to fly to California to attend the Woofstock dog show. The carrier fit well in the space alotted for her under the seat in front of her mom. She was so rested and happy she pranced into the ring and walked out with a couple important ribbons.
Our 17 lb puppy Loves This Crate
Just got back from a big road trip and our 17 lb (and growing) puppy did fabulous in this crate! She slept the entire time (5 hours) and when we took her out for a break she went back in on her own. She was able to fit with her favorite toy. We plan to bring her on a flight next week most likely she will be around 18.5 lbs by then, and I will update the review after she goes on the flight. We will be flying American Airlines and JetBlue for reference.
Finallyasoftcarrierforbigcats!!
My ‘babies’ are 16 and 19 pounds and I’ve been looking for a soft carrier for years, but reviews did not support use for cats of that size. Finally, the specs for this said up to 22 pounds and reviews did not contradict this, so I thought it was worth trying. I put them out before their vet appt so they could get used to them and they actually started sitting in them. On vet day they did not fight getting in (a far cry from previous battles, including a tetanus shot). I usually carry them in and out to my car on a cart, but coming back I had to carry them by hand (I could barely lift them to the cart in their hard carrier). It worked fine! Highly recommend these carriers, even for larger cats.
Carrier Bag
This is a very sturdy, yet lightweight carrier bag. We have a kitty weighing around 9 l bs and had a bag that opened on both ends. Our kitty fought getting into the old bag and once in, we noted it was a bit cramped. This new bag has a large zipped roof making it much more convenient to place our cat into the bag. She did not fight at all to stay out of it. She also had mesh side on three sides. It is a much larger bag and certainly could hold a much larger cat than ours. We are very happy with it.
She doesn’t hate it
Searched for a soft, lightweight carrier with a top opening to replace the one she has without a top opening. She has to be dumped and pried out of her carrier at the cat hospital adding to her stress. Chose this Sherpa bag for the top door, shoulder strap, and the same dimensions as the one she has. Her previous ride has stayed open and accessible all the time. She’s never voluntarily gone into it. The Sherpa arrived and she checked it out and went inside before I even finished checking it out myself. And she naps in it. Shocking! I think it’s the mesh sides. She can see out. I think she feels less confined than in the other bag with small mesh windows. I don’t expect her to want me to stuff her in it or voluntarily come out at the vet, but it might be less stressful for all concerned.
He loves it!
Just received this carrier. Haven’t used it for travel yet but my shih tzu loves it. He has plenty of room to lie down and move around. Plus, I like the lattice/quilt design and the price was great!
