Simparica is a fast-acting oral flea and tick preventative prescription that begins killing fleas and ticks within hours of application. When applied every 30 days, it can prevent infestation of fleas as well as treat and control tick infestations including the Lone Star tick, Gulf Coast tick, American dog tick and brown dog ticks.
Simparica kills adult fleas, and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations, and the treatment and control of tick infestations from lonenstar ticks, Gulf Coast ticks, American dog tick, black-legged ticks and brown dog ticks for one month in dogs 6 months of age or older and weighing at least 2.8 pounds.
Possible Side Effects
The most common side effects reported includes diarrhea and vomiting. Other side effects may include neurologic signs such as tremors.
Drug & Food Interactions
There are no known contraindications to the use of Simparica.
Simparica may cause abnormal neurologic signs such as tremors, decreased conscious proprioception, ataxia, decreased or absent menace, and/or seizures (see Animal Safety). The safe use of Simparica has not been evaluated in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. NOT FOR USE IN HUMANS. KEEP THIS AND ALL DRUGS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS. FOR USE IN DOGS ONLY.
