  • Not practical for large dogs with bladder issues

    By on

All I can think is that these are really intended more for smaller dogs or for dealing with female heat cycles. Unfortunately, I have an old lab (15+ years) who has a lot of trouble getting around and in bladder control. Sometimes, there's a poo issue, but really the urine is the most consistent issue. I had been using washable dog diapers with disposal human guards inside for a while -- but recently, it's come to the point that I needed a bit more protection. Additionally, I was getting overwhelmed with the daily laundry. I ordered these hoping that they'd serve the purpose. Sadly, they are very thin, and they don't fit that well. Aggravatingly, the tapes don't re-apply very easily All I can think is that these are really intended more for smaller dogs or for dealing with female heat cycles. Additionally, I was getting overwhelmed with the daily laundry. I ordered these hoping that they'd serve the purpose. Sadly, they are very thin, and they don't fit that well. Aggravatingly, the tapes don't re-apply very easily which creates a lot of wasted diapers. The Simple Solution Dog Diapers are pretty expensive in comparison to human or child diapers -- so I was obviously disappointed. For others in a similar situation with a 60 pound+ dog, I have found the ultimate solution is to buy small adult human diapers (not underwear -- diapers with the adjustable tabs) and modify them. I cut a hole for the tail and use duct tape around the opening to keep fluid and stuffing from leaking out -- and put them on backwards -- the tapes on the underside (tummy) to come up and fasten over the back. I still use a diaper doubler (a men's urine guard) inside -- and this prevents all urine leakage -- even while I am at work for 8 hours or overnight. I use the cloth diapers as a diaper cover and to make sure the diaper doesn't slip off. I have only used two of these from the package, and I would not order them in the future. Again, perhaps they'd work for a smaller dog or for dealing with heat cycles -- but they are inadequate for a senior dog who really needs a diaper to absorb urine. … more

  • These really work!!

I recently purchased the Simple Solution XL Disposable Diapers for my 14 1/2 year old female golden retriever who has started having incontinence problems due to a combination of age and UTIs. I have never used doggy diapers before and thought these looked decent, so I gave them a try. These diapers are awesome! They hold both urine and stool very well without leaks! The straps stay put even after taking the diaper on and off multiple times when my dog goes outside to potty. If she hasn't had an accident I can re-use the diaper until it is soiled. If the straps do start to lose their stick after several times of taking the diaper on and off, I just use some packaging tape to secure it. • Sizing of Diaper

    By on

We just got the diapers for our dog and she hasn't had an accident yet, but wanted to pass this along. We have an Australian Shepherd that weighs around 50-55 pounds. We bought the large size, which does fit her, but I am going to order the X-Large next time. They are pretty close around the waist, but the X-Large is longer so it would go up her back further and I think that would help. The padding appears to be good. I will update on the absorption once she has an accident.

  • XL/Large breed Incorrect size

    By on

My senior male is a golden chow mix he is a little smaller than a golden. so, seeing the golden pic on the package I thought it would fit properly. It fits around him, however, the issue is the tail hole location and it doesn't come up far enough on his tummy because of that to cover his boy parts. I wasted my money because although he is having bowel issues the pee is the worst part in a carpeted house and it doesn't cover that area.

  • great diapers!

My little dog will keep this diaper on . . . any others I've tried to use on her she manages to get off. I think it's the velcro closure versus the tape closure, these diapers have a more flexible "waist band".

These diapers work and fit the best and prevent leaking on a female dog in heat. Other brands don't fit as well. They speak for themselves. .

Diaper doesn't come big enough to fit my dog. Large dogs have incontinence issues too, but diapers for them are hard to find

  • Not for Boys

    By on

I have a young boy pup who is having trouble with the whole potty training thing, so we were trying to help the situation by putting a diaper on him. Alas it does not reach up high enough on his belly to cover his boy parts. At first I thought this was due to me having gotten the wrong size, but same problem on my other boy dog who is significantly shortly. So they are designed like women's pads, they just wont sit or stay high up the belly.

The purchase would be fine, however they are not large enough for my Lab and a light elastic along the legs may be helpful.

  • Just what we needed

    By on

Our pug mix has cancer, and she is on Prednizone which makes her drink lots of water; therefore, more pee. She does not tell us when she has to go out so we were having accidents. Since we started using these, if we're a little late with her 2 hour potty breaks, these diapers have saved us from quite a few accidents! I just wish they would come in larger quantity packages.
