Description

Your pal will always travel in first class with the Sleepypod Air In-Cabin Dog & Cat Carrier. Its patent pending design adapts to the space underneath the plane’s seat, and expands so your pal can stretch out comfortably during the flight. Durably built with luggage-grade, ballistic nylon and zipper pockets, globetrotting pet parents can travel with everything they need, while making sure their pal is comfortable all the way, thanks to the cozy, ultra-plush bedding. Plus, the top and sides can be opened easily for soothing petting sessions while your pet is inside. Also great for land travel, it doubles as a car seat with straps so you can securely fasten it with a seatbelt. Because safety is a non-negotiable for you and your companion, the carrier meets the same safety standards set for child safety restraints. And when you get to where you’re going, you’ll be delighted that it also turns into a convenient pet bed that’s ideal for any home away from home.

Key Benefits

    Pawsitive Cat Transport

    By on

I purchased the Sleepypod on the recommendation of several globe-trotting cat parents, and I was not disappointed! I was relocating our son's cat on a six-hour flight and wanted to ensure both comfort and safety. The Sleepypod performed flawlessly: the 12lb cat, though restless, was comfortable. The zippers are strong and held up to a few powerful whacks. The strap is comfortable, well-balanced and allowed for ease of transport through screening (request a private TSA screening with a cat!) and moving between plane changes. The structure of the Sleepypod is very well conceived and fits perfectly under the seat. Our puppy overheats

    By on

We purchased this item to fly from Florida to California, our layover was in Atlanta. Our French Bulldog overheated quickly, while in this unit, during the flight from Palm Beach to Atlanta. We put him in again only when boarding, he was panting heavily when we took him out just after we boarded. (Thank goodness we were in first class, so there was plenty of room.)

    Perfect for traveling

    By on

I absolutely love this carrier! I was traveling from the west coast to the east coast for the holidays and wanted to make sure my pup would be as comfortable as possible. This was the roomiest, best made one I could find on the market. It is a little pricey but worth every penny!!!!

    Sleepypod for a Chihuahua mix

    By on

I bought a Sleepypod because it is rated as one of the safest car seat carriers on the market and because it can also be used as a carrier and a pet bed and is supposed to be airline approved. I was a bit hesitant to buy it after reading that it is made in China and several people complained about a bad smell. I bought a grey carrier. I did not notice any unusual smell except for a new "plastic" type smell that has dissipated as it has been opened to the air. It's easy to put in the car and remove from the car. It's not heavy so it would be possible to carry my 10 lb. Chi mix over my shoulder for short distances without too much problem. The interior is nice and plush for the dog's comfort I bought a Sleepypod because it is rated as one of the safest car seat carriers on the market and because it can also be used as a carrier and a pet bed and is supposed to be airline approved. The one thing I don't like is that the mesh is so dark that I cannot see my dog at all. So, if she was in any distress I would not be able to see her until I opened the carrier and looked inside. That's a big flaw for such an expensive carrier. My 10# Chi mix fits in the carrier and can manage to turn around though it is tight. I know that for safety purposed the carrier should not be too much bigger than the dog. She can easily stand, sit, and lay down and can turn around with a little effort. The ends of the carrier are supposed to fold up so that it can fit under an airline seat. The ends do fold up but not easily. It took quite a bit of maneuvering for me to get them to fold. Bottom line is that I wouldn't leave my dog in the carrier for long trips but for short airline trips or for trips to the dog classes or out to the park or across town, fine. I wonder if the dark mesh and the dark interior might get a bit hot for a dog, too. I will just have to keep checking on her to make sure she is doing ok. … more

Very nice carrier but too small

    By on

I ordered this for my 16 lb. Cairn Terrier, not for air travel but for car safety. The carrier is very well made but unfortunately it's too small. It would be great for a Yorkshire Terrier or Chihuahua but not for any dog larger than that. Wish there was a little bit larger size that I could order. Great customer service by Chewy in handling the return!

    Chewy Boxes

    By on

I have 2 round sleepy pods for my girls but need travel carriers for an upcoming trip so I purchased the sleepy pods travel case. I put them out so they could get used to them but as you can see they prefer the cardboard Chewy boxes. Do you think the airlines will allow it?!

    Excellent Quality

It is well worth spending a little more for this airline carrier. The Sleepypod is awesome! It has so many special features, as seen in the video on the website. I was concerned that it might be a wee small for my 16 pound chi-terrier mix. She has a long torso. As suggested, I worked with her for about a week, several times a day, getting her used to the carrier. When we arrived at the airport for her first flight EVER, she was very willing to crawl inside. It was tight quarters but she felt safe and hidden inside her dark little den. My dog is quite timid and shy. She is a rescue. We gave her a very mild sedative from our vet and she was quiet as a church mouse during the entire four It is well worth spending a little more for this airline carrier. The Sleepypod is awesome! Excellent Carrier

    By on

I have a 18 lbs shih tzu who thinks he is human and refused to go in ANY carrier. I used treats and his favorite toys to get him acclimated to the carrier. He goes into it on his own now and when used last weekend, he did just fine.
