I like it, my guinea pigs don't.
By Cleopatra401 on Mar 26, 2021
I think this hay is really nice. It smells very green and fresh; has a nice green color to it, and doesn't seem very dusty. It has a lot of leafy soft pieces and seed heads. UNFORTUNATELY, my guinea pigs don't agree. They end up leaving half of it uneaten. I thought they preferred the softer parts and seed heads, but they leave that behind right along with the crunchier parts. I've purchased other brands that didn't seem as nice (to my eye), that they've liked much better. Since my opinion doesn't matter (I'm not the one eating it), I'll have to switch back to the other brand.

Best quality!
By Noelle on Mar 22, 2021
I have 1 rabbit and 5 tortoises. This is the best quality hay I’ve ever ordered. All of my animals love it! It’s always green, fresh, and crispy. Small pet select hay smells great and never disappoints. I will definitely continue to purchase my hay from them as well as their other products. I can’t say enough about how great the quality of their product is

By Pancakesmom on Mar 1, 2021
We unfortunately never did our research before we got our bun and for years we’ve been feeding her hay from kaytee and oxbow the last few years shes been having alot of trouble with poopy butt and its gotten to the point we have to clean her butt almost daily we did our research this time and found out its her hay we just switched and the difference in the hay quality is out of this world theres so many long bits and its a nice healthy green she couldn’t even wait for me to get some out for her before she was helping her self and munching away shes happy and so are we! Fingures crossed this will be the end of her poopy butt problems.

It’s so fresh!
By KBunny on Mar 24, 2021
Very impressed with my first order from SPS. Very fresh hay, no dust or tiny pieces. Nice inserts from a family owned business. Have been an Oxbow customer for years and thought I’d try a new brand. I’m hooked on this hay! Both my Holland lops dove into their trough and have been enjoying it.

Dead mouse in box
By Suzanne on Jan 8, 2021
Purchased this based on recommendation. Our 1st 10lb box was loved by our guinea pigs even though there were a lot of pieces they would not eat. We just got our second order a week or so ago which I went with the 20lb box. Well last night about an inch or two deep into the box my 10 year old daughter found a dead flattened mouse in a clump of hay. I totally get this is grown out in a field and nature happens however there should be a better quality control process done so a 10 year old girl does not need to see this right before bed. I am glad she was smart enough to know something was not right and did not just throw it in the piggies cage. The actual hay is fresh and green.

Dead Roach in the box....
By chinchillamom on Jan 15, 2021
The hay was good, but when my pet almost finished the whole box, I found a dead and dried roach in the box. Really disgusted me. The box of the hay was put on the 2nd floor of the hallway and I do not have a roach problem in my house, so I am very sure it is not a problem on my side. This supplier needs a better quality control indeed. I reported the problem to Chewy and Chewy immediately refunded me for this box of the hay. I appreciate what Chewy did.

Looks fresh
By Chris on Mar 12, 2021
I opened the giant box and found it looks to be fresh, a lot more brighter and green then oxbow. The rabbits seem to like it as well.

Not great for small animals
By Guineamom on Mar 21, 2021
Unless you are feeding a horse sized guinea pig this is not for you. My poor little guinea can't eat this at all. Super big water of money.

The best hay
By Bekki on Jan 27, 2021
This hay is the best I've found. Its green and the piggies like it. There were not many crumbs/ dust left at the bottom like most hays. Also, my allergies were better after switching to this brand of hay.

We've tried it all, this is the best of the best
By Heatherlynn on Dec 29, 2020
This is not only my bun's favorite hay it's also the best for the digestion. Every other brand or cut seems to leave them with small misshapen droppings that cause me so much stress. We're done trying to find a cheaper hay. Now I just make sure as little as possible is wasted
