Keep kitty claws busy… and keep your curtains intact! The SmartCat Bootsie's Combination Scratcher lets cats tone their muscle, remove old nail sheaths, and get rid of stress without damaging your furniture or drapes. Woven sisal makes this scratcher more durable than others, and the convenient wall mounts allow you to hang it or leave it flat on the ground near your cat's favorite nap spot.
Rubber feet provide stability and prevent slipping while on the floor
Versatile scratcher mounts on the wall, hangs over a door, or sits on the floor
Relieves cat's stress and helps tone muscle
Heavy-duty, built-to-last construction with quality workmanship
Fibrous and durable woven sisal naturally inspires scratching
Place the post in a room where the cat spends a lot of time. Cats often like to stretch and scratch when they wake up from a nap.
To introduce the post to your cat try using catnip as a lure. (For most cats a lure is unnecessary, but fun.) Rub catnip onto the sisal material and call the cat over to the post.
Scratch your nails along the surface of the material. This will attract the cat and at the same time teach him where to scratch.
After your cat begins to scratch, praise him and give him a food treat. (Small kittens can be trained to climb the post by showing them food treats and placing it at the top of the post.
If your cat has already been scratching a piece of furniture, place the post directly in front of it.
Temporarily cover the previously scratched areas with a few strips of double-sided carpet tape or clear double-sided tape strips that are designed for this purpose. This will help redirect your cat’s scratching activities to the post.
I have a few large post cat scratchers that take up significant space and are heavy. I wanted something more compact and portable not like a piece of furniture. I purchased this for my bedroom where there is carpet. I just placed it on the floor ( I did spray it with catnip spray immediately). Cats took to it right away, use it frequently and never scratch the carpet, furniture, or woodwork. They prefer this to scratch on and they like to lay on it. Great product, can be moved from room to room easily and can be placed under bed etc. when you want it out of the way. My cats usually sits on it when scratching so their weight holds it steady. Wonderful item.

I got two of these and put them near the couch, since that's what they were trying to use as a scratching post, and it's worked really well. When they'd start to scratch on the couch, I'd pick them up and put them down on top of this instead. Now I can just AT-AT!! at them when they start on the couch and they'll go to this instead. It's sturdy and stays put, but mine are still only five pound kittens. I may update my review as they get older.
Kitties love this

This allowed me to throw out a few cardboard scratchers in my kitchen. Looks like it will last for a while (though my two kittens aren't compulsive scratchers), and they prefer this to carpet. Easy to wall mount, looks nice with apartment-style beige walls and carpet. Checks all the boxes!

This is a good quality scratcher that my cats really like. I use it flat on the floor, but it can be hung and comes with everything needed for that. My cats love rope, so find this to be fun to use.
My new kitty won't touch this!

It was a total waste of money as my new kitty won't touch this...he uses all my furniture and rugs and despite my coaxing, showing and treating with catnip of various types..he won't go near it.

Found a 10 week half starved kitty. 3 1/2 weeks ago. I bought this for him after we knew he was out of danger and started scratching every thing in the house. Lol.
It is wonderfully constructed. Took him tow days with lots of praise letting him know it was good to use it.... He gets into it some days lol.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!! <3 :)

Scratching post for the wall

Couple place our cats like to scratch on the walls. Bought two of these and now the cats stopped scratching the walls for the most part.
Well constructed and I may get more for other rooms in the house.
Great addition to have in addition to regular free standing scratching posts.

My boys love this scratcher, it is their favorite out of all the varieties we have bought them. We are onto our second one after eventually tearing it to shreds
Great cat scratcher!
