Remove the netting from pellets and replace into each compartment. Pour 3 ounces of warm water onto each pellet in your planting container. Wait 10 minutes for the pellets to absorb the water. Remove about 1 teaspoon of soil from each pellet and set aside. Open seed pack and stir seeds into the soil. Using the soil that you set aside in step 4 cover the seeds and lightly mix. Add water if necessary to keep soil and seeds moist-however, over watering can lead to a fungal and mold growth. Drain any excess water from the bottom tray. Do not allow the seeds to dry out. Lightly mist your garden daily to keep moist. Keep in a location that is between 65-70 degrees F. When the grasses are 3” to 4” tall, you can treat your kitty to its garden.

Only grew mold both times I tried
By Tara on Dec 17, 2020
Everything was great, except I’m not much of a gardener and I live in the city so I don’t have a yard and my apartment doesn’t get much sun. So I’ve attempted to grow my “Kittys Garden” twice now. Both times ending up with mold. So I can’t blame that on any fault of the product but I wish I could repurchase the soil or the potting trays.

Super Cute But My Cat Made A Mess Of It
By nikki182 on Nov 12, 2020
I really loved this cat garden and enjoyed growing the grass for my cat. The instructions were easy to follow, and it grew in and looked great. until I gave it to my cat. When eating the grass, she would grab a mouthful and pull up. This resulted in the black tray lifting out of the box and dumping soil on the ground. You could probably solve this by taping the tray down. She managed to pull up most of the grass after a couple of days, and I was just not able to revive it. I have plenty of seeds and could try growing some more, but I think my cat was more about destroying this and leaving the grass on the ground than eating it.

my 20lb. kitty loved it
By Oreo on Nov 30, 2020
My kitty absolutely loved it. The grass he loved and did not pull it out of the box. When he chewed it all up we pulled the grass out of the containers and just replanted more seeds. There are far too many seeds to put in the containers all at once, we saved them and replanted half the container. It is awesome and kitty eats it every day...We are purchasing another...

Ms. Cat Lover
By Barbj44 on Dec 29, 2020
My cat wants to eat this so bad! However, he takes a chomp out of the grass & the whole thing comes out of the tray. I have to hold it for him. I have seeds left. No more little trays. I’m planting them all in soilin the planter.

Great idea, but with one serious flaw...MOLD!
By Lucky on Oct 15, 2020
One of our cats loves chewing on and playing with cat grass. We've purchased the smaller, more expensive versions from pet stores that don't always last very long, and figure this planter gave us more bang for our buck, and it comes in a pretty cool box. My wife put it together and followed the instructions strictly for initial setup, yes we took the wrapping off the little soil blocks. About 3 days later, we started to notice white fuzz growing on top of the soil in each plot...mold! Not wanting to risk our health or our cats', I dumped the batch and used our own potting soil instead. 7 days later, we have some budding. Do I still recommend this product, yes, but simply for the amazingly One of our cats loves chewing on and playing with cat grass. Easiest way to grow grass for cats
By Kasia on Oct 16, 2020
This is probably the easiest time I've had growing plants and that's saying something because I don't exactly have a green thumb. The only thing I have to say is that whatever they have the dirt wrapped in makes it messy when you unwrap it so be prepared for a bit of a mess. The best thing about this is you can use the pots and places to grow the seeds again and again- all you need is dirt for potted plants. In fact I've done this already two times since using the original dirt that came with the pot but with the same seed packet. It's very good of whoever put this together to put extra seeds in there- I just hope to be able to buy more seeds when these run out and I'm not sure if this brand This is probably the easiest time I've had growing plants and that's saying something because I don't exactly have a green thumb. cute container
By lunadaisy on Nov 18, 2020
The container is adorable. The grass grew great! However, none of my several cats were interest in this grass for some reason. I bought another brand of sweet grass and one of my little guys could not get enough of it. So if you like the container to grow other grass in it I'd say go for it. Maybe your fur baby will like this type of grass.

So glad I bought this!
By Bean on Oct 11, 2020
I got a new kitten and when he turned 6 months old he wouldn’t leave my house plants alone, I couldn’t let him outdoors yet so I bought this, followed the instructions and after if had sprouted high enough brought it indoors at night when most of the plant destruction had been happening. Happy to report that he now eats his grass and my plants are finally safe from being nibbled and dug in! I put it outside during the day to get full sun and a break from being eaten, get watered etc.. bring it in a night and it’s great! Grows quickly and looks wonderful!

What instructions?
By Wiseraz on Nov 18, 2020
Well it arrived. There's a bag of mixed up seeds. There are 4 round pads. NO instructions? Do the seeds go on top of the pads? Under it? Wet the pads? Or put water in the bottom of the tray and float the pads on top? Rediculous that there are NO instructions.

Moldy soil
By Katt on Sep 20, 2020
Me and my partner ordered this to grow some grass for a cat that we're getting soon, and we wanted it to be grown by the time we got the cat. Unfortunately, 2 days after planting the seeds, we discovered that there was mold growing in the soil. If we hadn't noticed this and the grass grew, and our cat ate from it, this would've been terrible. I am disappointed that Chewy allows on their website a product that has been repeatedly noted by consumers to come with mold- especially since the intention of said product is for the cat to eat.
