The SmartCat Kitty's Garden ensures your faithful feline gets plenty of the greens he needs to improve digestion, limit hairballs, and get his fill of essential vitamins and nutrients
The decorative wood box is filled with oats, rye, wheat, and barley and they only take 4-6 days to grow
Gives cats a safe alternative to nibbling on your houseplants, which can be potentially toxic to them if swallowed
All you need to do to serve your cat is place this garden near your kitty's food dish or in an area they frequent and they'll find it
Please note seeds come in one bag that you disperse into the four compartments.
Remove the netting from pellets and replace into each compartment. Pour 3 ounces of warm water onto each pellet in your planting container. Wait 10 minutes for the pellets to absorb the water. Remove about 1 teaspoon of soil from each pellet and set aside. Open seed pack and stir seeds into the soil. Using the soil that you set aside in step 4 cover the seeds and lightly mix. Add water if necessary to keep soil and seeds moist-however, over watering can lead to a fungal and mold growth. Drain any excess water from the bottom tray. Do not allow the seeds to dry out. Lightly mist your garden daily to keep moist. Keep in a location that is between 65-70 degrees F. When the grasses are 3” to 4” tall, you can treat your kitty to its garden.
Ijust had to tell you how our cat stormy has gotten addicted to this grass. I got a new one the other day and I was preparing it and she saw what I was doing. Stormy meowed for what seemed like forever. She hunted for it all day long. I of course made her wait until the grass started to grow and then she found it. I laughed so hard to see her with the dark dirt all over her face and paws trying to find it. Poor baby just didn't understand she would have to wait till it grows. She looked like she was crying. It broke my heart so now I will try to always have one on the ready. Thanks for such great products.
Maybe not for everyone

I read great reviews about this product and thats why i got as a treat for my kitty. 4 days in when it started to grow my cat loved chomping at the 8 blades of grass that had grown. I grew some more grads for about a month and followed the instructions but it never quite grew more than 12 blades of grass. Eventually it got all moldy. I was keeping it by a window and my apartment was the correct temp but i dont think there was enough sunlight. So just want others to consider whether they have an ideal living space for plants before leaving a poor review for others. I see how this plant can work out perfectly for other cat owners
It’s good for the price if you don’t use all the seeds at once

Bought this and it came very fast. I’ve tried cat grass before but never growing it from seeds. I followed the instructions and they were pretty clear and easy to follow, I did not use all of the seeds my first try. It seemed like a lot of seeds to use for the tiny sections you have. I used plenty but still saved some for another two rounds and for that I think the price is worth it. I do think you need to water it regularly and have good air flow by it. I would move it outside for a few hours a day and then back in. My first round the grass/soil produced mold bc I kept it indoors in a cooler area of the house.
Won’t buy again

The planting of this was fine. But on day 3 I couldn’t keep my 2 cats from digging in the soil and pulling out the seeds and sprouts and eating all of it , then throwing up with all that soil they swallowed! I live in an apt so have no access to grow it outside away from them - had to hide it high on a bookshelf where there’s barely any light. Perhaps that’s why I never got that rich green color? When it grew it was all barely green, more yellow- like wet hay. So - no go unfortunately. Also - my smaller- sized girl couldn’t manage eating it at all- her mouth is too small. I have to chop it into her food bowl.
on second thought

we've purchased several of these planters for our own cats at home, and as gifts for cat loving family and friends over the years. we've been finding the refills unnecessarily wasteful, though, with our collection of dozens of (double) plastic refill containers that are not biodegradeable or earth friendly stacked in a corner and growing, in hopes of a possible future use. now, with refills no longer available, the planters themselves are a sad waste. Why does Smartcat not offer bulk seed bags and bulk soil disks, without the individual, single serving waste and, over time, unwarranted extra expense to customers who are already buying the planters and would appreciate a kinder, more appreciativewe've purchased several of these planters for our own cats at home, and as gifts for cat loving family and friends over the years. we've been finding the refills unnecessarily wasteful, though, with our collection of dozens of (double) plastic refill containers that are not biodegradeable or earth friendly stacked in a corner and growing, in hopes of a possible future use. now, with refills no longer available, the planters themselves are a sad waste. Kitty loves this!

One of my cats constantly destroys houseplants, so I've given up on anything that I can't keep out of her reach. I got this hoping I might get her to eat this instead. The seeds were quite fun to watch grow, and my cat loved eating the grass once it was ready. She still tried to eat other stuff, but I'm happy to be able to give her something safe.
The grass lasted me about 4 weeks, and that's with me being terrible at upkeep. I definitely did not spray it as recommended and I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did. Also, the kit comes with way more seeds than you plant at once so you can re-plant several times. Definitely recommend!

I tried growing this grass and the dirt stuff they send with it does grow mold fast so I threw it away and bought some miracle grow potting dirt and re-planted more seeds. It does come with a big bag of seeds so I have plenty to last me a couple times of growing grass. I love the box it comes with it’s so cute and sturdy it also has plastic pegs on the bottom so it stays in place.
Company did not respond back

My tray is cracked from shipping. Which made it inot attractive. It leaked in the wooden tray. Which made it leak on the floor. I could not get it replaced. No response back from the company. Plus I though it would have some cat nip in it ....it did not! That was the main Reason why I purchased it. Not Having the company respond back to me was reason enough not to purchase it again.
Perfect Grass for Indoor Kitty!

My kitty loves this!! It was simple to plant -- I covered my planted seeds with cling wrap to keep soil moist until seeds sprouted which I recommend -- and within a week it was ready for kitty to start eating! It came up very quickly. I had it in a window with southern exposure. The wooden container it is in is very sturdy & does not tip over with kitty chows down. The plant cells lift up & there is a trough underneath -- I keep water in this & water the grass from below instead of pouring water into the little cups/cells. This works great. Kitty is SO happy!!

Thought the product was ready for planting. It needs peat moss and there's no instructions. There's a round disk and a package of seeds. May sound stupid, but I'm not sure what to do with them. Just received it so I can't comment on how easy it grows and how popular it will be with my cats.
