  • Sturdy, multiple uses, cats love it

    By on

I love this toy. I bought it several years ago when my daughter moved in briefly with her cat, my first experience with cats. The GrandCat loved it, we played taking turns pushing the balls around inside, and later I added balls with bells. Now I have my own kittens, and they love it. I load it up with random toys, feathers, balls, mice, etc. They check it daily, and play alone, with each other, and with me. Never seem to get tired. Best of all, the holes are too small for the dog to get to toys inside. The cats love frustrating the dog. It's solid wood, looks more like a table game I'd bring out for a party than a cat toy.

  • Balls Too Small

    By on

As some others have noted, it took seconds for my cat to get the balls out of the side holes and then she was done. I put them back in and she immediately got them out before I even walked away. This needs larger balls or smaller holes. As another purchaser noted I can plug up those holes and she could then play longer. She did enjoy it for the short time it took for her to get the balls out. It is well made. I put the balls in the other similar toy that I bought at the same time, a plastic pyramid. She hasn't gotten the balls out of that one and is still enjoying the challenge.

  • Hide an seek

I put my cats favorite mouse toys in there to get her to work for them. She likes it but I find I spent quite a bit of time finding her toys and putting them in there for the minute it takes for her to take them back out. It just doesn’t hold her attention longer than that.

  • Curious interactive cat toy

    By on

It’s fun for the cats . The drawback is the items in the box that can fit inside, also will roll out the sides. Then it’s not fun anymore. The cat human must constantly put the toys back inside . I guess that is what is meant by interactive.

  • Balls are lost

    By on

My cat loved this before the balls got lost. The holes on the side need to be a tiny bit smaller so it's a little trickier for my cat. He used to love this toy until he lost the balls. Now it's just a hunk of wood sitting on the floor...

  • Boring toy

    By on

I purchased this about 6 months ago. Both my cats played with it for about 2 days. They haven't touched it since. The one good thing about it is that it is made with good, sturdy, solid wood.

  • Modify toy

My cat got both balls out in seconds and was done playing with it. I closed the side holes by simply taping cardboard on them. Doesn't look great but he can't get the balls out as quickly anymore and loves playing with it.

  • Need to babysit

    By on

I got this thinking it was a toy that the balls would stay inside. When it arrived I was very disappointed that within a few seconds my cats had the balls out and under the couch. The box itself is really well made, but I thought the balls couldn't come out. I have other toys where the inside pieces come out and I was hoping this would be the first one I didn't have to babysit to make sure they didn't lose the pieces.

  • Amazing quality for the price

    By on

When I saw the $12 price tag I expected a wood like plastic. This seems to be real wood! The balls on the other hand or too light. Unfortunately, my cat is not interested in it at all. She is a three-year-old indoor cat so I assume she would go a little bananas over seeing anything to play with. On the other hand, my daughter's kitten is coming down this weekend so we'll see if he likes it :-) Not a complete disappointment because she plays with the balls outside the box. I could have saved a little money and just bought some puffy toy balls. Not for my cat but maybe yours :-)

  • Frown not really that great sadly

    By on

I have three cats and they only played with this Smart cat peek & play toybox the first five days after I purchased it for them. After that they lost interest very quickly and now it is collecting dust. The idea of this is quite interesting however it definitely need something to capture the cats attention and keep it in order for this product to be a great seller. Unless I’m sitting there playing and flicking the balls inside the holes they don’t want play with it.
