  • Sort of works

I bought this product to keep my new kittens from bothering the canaries. This roll was not enough to cover the window sill with canary cages, so I used it all up and covered the front. Cats definitely did not like the feel of the sticky tape. Initially I was pleased, but the more determined of the two learned to jump over the sticky barrier and settle in the rear of the bird cage. I bought the larger pieces to overcome this problem. However, the bird mess, seed hulls and feathers, sticks to the glue, so my cleaning lady got rid of it in two weeks. I am undeterred, will apply more product to various parts of house

  • Very good product that works

My old sofa was shredded by my gang of four. Declaw is a no-no option in my house. But I was embarrassed to have anyone over with my slip covered furniture. So, I bought new living room furniture, a squirt bottle and some Sticky Paws (both roll and strips). It WORKS! They hate the feel of the sticky to their paws they now almost run far away from the furniture - no squirt bottle needed :) Now it is true, that even though the double sided tape is a clear tape, you are going to be able to see that yes there is clear tape there. It pulls off very easy and applying it is easy as well, and seems to last about as long as you want it to last. I'm hoping that by leaving Sticky Paws around for a good long while they will "learn" not to scratch furniture. But a cats gonna do what a cat wants to do! In the meantime, my new furniture is safe at least. … more

  • Sticky paws

This did not work for our cats. They ignored it. One used it to help her get a grip on the edge and pull herself up so she could scan the treats on the counter. On the plus side, it did not hurt the granite

  • Helpful, but not great

    By on

The tape is really thin, and requires a bit of effort to get it to stick to mattresses or upholstery. It fell off the couch constantly, so I went through the whole roll in a little over a week. I could see this working on curtains or other areas, but for upholstery or mattresses, regular double sided tape might work better.

The one cat who likes scratching the rug was put off by this, which is the whole idea. Unfortunately, the humans in the house kept forgetting it was there (it's clear) and kept getting shoes or socks stuck to it. This would be great in an out-of-the-way area or on a vertical surface, but there's too much traffic where I need it. I also found it useful to secure aluminum foil to the rug, which also deters the cats -- except for the one who is convinced that there's always food under foil, but he doesn't scratch the rug. So, good product, just be mindful of where you'll use it.

  • It works!!

Easy to use and works as advertised. The FatCat is stymied and using the scratch pole like he should. The 2 year old grand daughter doesn't like the fact that it also holds her hair when she tries to headbutt the sleeping cat!!! The entertainment factor is worth the price!

  • Not So Kitty Deterrent

I love the idea of using this but it turned out to be not as effective as I had hoped. One kitten loves to lick it and the other one just doesn't mind sticky paws. It may be more effective with older cats.

  • Really keeps cats from scratching

I wanted something to keep my cats from scratching doorframes but didn't want to use anything that would damage the paint. I first taped aluminum foil to the doorframes up to a height of about 3 feet, using masking tape which wouldn't damage the paint. Then I placed Sticky Paws tape over the aluminum foil everywhere *except* where the door contacts the frame. So far the cats haven't scratched these areas at all. I plan to try this method on wooden chair legs. The main disadvantage to the sticky tape is that animal hair and dirt stick to it.

  • Flimsy and difficult

    By on

This tape is way to thin. Could have a little more thickness. It was way to difficult to peal the backing off. Probably better off using a two sided fabric tape.

  • Not enough tape

    By on

Actually, expensive for just a little tape. I only got to use 3 times on a mattress, and now have no more. Not going to buy more. Too expensive. Probably, cheaper for double sided tape. If you need to wash your bedding a lot, then this is more likely not the right product. It did keep my cat from scratching it, but I can just add towels to where he scratched and did it just as good. If you can afford to pay over and over again quickly for this, then it is worth it. I am not rich to do that.
