  • This product has saved our new furniture

We have an 11 year old and 6 month old cat that seem to think their actual scratching post is just for looks and the chair and couch are from the dark side and must be destroyed. Well,we received our new furniture and immediately covered it in the sticky paws. Guess what??? One month later and the cats are scared to even jump on the chair! They HATE (and I mean hate with a fiery passion) the sticky tape! I will be recommending this product to everyone with a cat. It is a must have!

  • doesn't stick very well to fabric

I mostly bought this to put on my bed frame because my cats love to use it, even though they have many scratching posts around my house. They do not like that I have put this where they like to scratch on my bed. It comes off really easily, they just pull it off :( I tried taping it on and that didn't help. Not sure why they don't make it very sticky. Definitely do not recommend this.

  • Sort of works

I bought this product to keep my new kittens from bothering the canaries. This roll was not enough to cover the window sill with canary cages, so I used it all up and covered the front. Cats definitely did not like the feel of the sticky tape. Initially I was pleased, but the more determined of the two learned to jump over the sticky barrier and settle in the rear of the bird cage. I bought the larger pieces to overcome this problem. However, the bird mess, seed hulls and feathers, sticks to the glue, so my cleaning lady got rid of it in two weeks. I am undeterred, will apply more product to various parts of house

  • Works immediately!

Tim Purry used to do this adorable thing where he’d try to open the bedroom door relentlessly while you try to sleep. I tried everything: feline repellent spray, blocking the door with a towel/shoes/a plastic bag, but nothing worked, and I was losing sleep nightly. Oh and he would try to climb on top of the tv, a flat-screen on a just-wobbly-enough base, that was THE LOUDEST at 2am. Anyway. I tried this sticky stuff, and right away, Timmy didn’t want to even touch the door, and he didn’t really care to see what was so interesting at the top of the tv. I HIGHLY recommend this tape for any similar pet.

  • This does work! but not without its cons

    By on

This falls off easily and is somewhat hard to work with because it's so thin. I would definitely repurchase though because It's blends in well with the couch and is effective in stopping my two kittens from scratching the couch.

  • Very good product that works

My old sofa was shredded by my gang of four. Declaw is a no-no option in my house. But I was embarrassed to have anyone over with my slip covered furniture. So, I bought new living room furniture, a squirt bottle and some Sticky Paws (both roll and strips). It WORKS! They hate the feel of the sticky to their paws they now almost run far away from the furniture - no squirt bottle needed :) Now it is true, that even though the double sided tape is a clear tape, you are going to be able to see that yes there is clear tape there. It pulls off very easy and applying it is easy as well, and seems to last about as long as you want it to last. I'm hoping that by leaving Sticky Paws around for a good long while they will "learn" not to scratch furniture. But a cats gonna do what a cat wants to do! In the meantime, my new furniture is safe at least. … more

  • Stuff didn't work....

I have a cat that gets on the kitchen counter every night, unacceptable behavior! I tried this tape last night and found the cat walking around on it, merrily looking for something to get into. The tape was no help at all. I will use it as I would any regular double sided tape.

  • lite weight

It has helped, but unless the entire sofa is covered, it will not stop the cat. The tape on my sofa sometimes rolls up because the cat plays with it. Very curious.

The one cat who likes scratching the rug was put off by this, which is the whole idea. Unfortunately, the humans in the house kept forgetting it was there (it's clear) and kept getting shoes or socks stuck to it. This would be great in an out-of-the-way area or on a vertical surface, but there's too much traffic where I need it. I also found it useful to secure aluminum foil to the rug, which also deters the cats -- except for the one who is convinced that there's always food under foil, but he doesn't scratch the rug. So, good product, just be mindful of where you'll use it.

  • Helpful, but not great

The tape is really thin, and requires a bit of effort to get it to stick to mattresses or upholstery. It fell off the couch constantly, so I went through the whole roll in a little over a week. I could see this working on curtains or other areas, but for upholstery or mattresses, regular double sided tape might work better.
