I had this scratching post, and it lasted consisten use by 3 cats for YEARS. It was finally time to get a new one, and I was so happy to see this was on Chewy. I don't put this thing fully upright, I lie it on it's side, because my cats prefer scratching horizontally rather than vertically. I don't put this thing fully upright, I lie it on it's side, because my cats prefer scratching horizontally rather than vertically. Plus it acts as a convenient ramp to get up to the bed. This thing is very sturdy, and doesn't slide around when they try and scratch, which bothers me about a lot of those cardboard scratching posts. Plus with how well built it is they feel safe and steady on it too. Definitely worth the price. It lasts for many years, and is a good quality product. … more

The scratching post is a nice size, easy to assemble with a screw driver, but the sisal has already started to pull away where the cats are scratching (after about one week of use).

Buying Another One
By Getty on Feb 25, 2021
This was gifted to me from a friend whose cat never used it. It's been 4 years and it's finally time to replace. My Cat Son LOOOOOVES this thing. It also goes well with my apartment and kind of blends in which I love. Pet accessories get real tacky real quick, but this one has stood the test of time. Its well made and doesn't look cheap. Highly recommend this to any cat parent.

By Zoey on Feb 22, 2021
Zoey at first was a little nervous with her new scratching post but she is getting the hang of it and manages to get to the top and sit there like she owns the world.

My cats love this product! They haven’t figured they can climb on the top, but that will come

Scratching post worth having
By Carole on Feb 21, 2021
This is the perfect size and price point for me. I have several on my main floor near furniture I want to protect. The scratching posts are much more satisfying for the cat ado I have a system that works for me

Cat scratching post and perch
By Janet on Feb 16, 2021
This scratching post is tall enough for large cats, it’s solid, sturdy, and there is a removable perch that can be purchased to use with it. My cats love it.

No-mess cat tree
By Buddy on Feb 16, 2021
The sisal is much more durable than carpet, which left a terrible mess every time Buddy used it. He took to it right away. I was a little nervous about that.

Couldn't be Happier!
By Genevieve on Feb 14, 2021
I got a brand new couch, and one of my rescue cats started scratching on it. To deter her from scratching I did research on the best scratching posts, and this Smart Cat post was one of the best! I didn't know it was important for cats to have tall scratching posts to fully stretch. Both of my cats love it, and they no longer scratch the couch!
