Good in theory but
Designed to fit the highly rated scratching post which unfortunately has a small slick top that cats, when trying to grab onto, can slip off (but other than that, is a great post). This item is designed to solve that problem and provide felines with a perch. It slides on the top of the post and has a padded cover that is attached with Velcro. Issue is cats have hard time climbing up quickly as this cover has quite a bit of overhang to navigate around. Might be OK for older cats but for younger more active ones, it is may not be ideal. It also does not lock as firmly into place as I would like. Again it may work better for less active cats.
Perch pad on a box
It would have made this product a lot more valuable if it said this is separate from the post! Now the post is out of stock and I have nothing for the pad to be used with.
Not worth the money
From day 1 the perch did not stay secured to the post. Cats jump on it and fall right off. Husband had to figure out a way to screw it on to avoid accidents. The red cushion is equally useless. From day 1 it did not stay secured to the perch and spends most of its time laying on the floor. Wish I had returned it when I first bought it but I thought I could figure out a way to keep it on. So far I can't come up with a solution. Don't bother with it.
Love it, but needed some modifications
I got this perch (as well as the scratching post) from my mom because her cat wouldn't use it. I've had it for a few days now and my cat seems to like it, she likes to sit on the perch and watch out the window. I had to make a slight modification to it because the perch slid slightly back and forth and didn't fit correctly, but that was easily fixed with some metal hardware to help secure it (in case anyone is having similar issues, i used two 1/4" offset metal mirror clips that i got for 47 cents each in place of the plastic turn buttons). I have also noticed the small velcro pads don't seem to stick so I'll probably look into replacing those as well. Other than those small issues. The quality seems really nice
staple gun
The Velcro tabs are worthless. Used a staple gun to keep the red pad on, and the cats love it!
Cat loves it!
Since I have limited space, I love that this creates a new hangout for my cat without taking up additional floor real estate! It’s a little on the small side—my cat is 7 pounds and I don’t know if it would work if she was much bigger—but she loves it! I put some catnip on it, placed her on it once and she keeps coming back. It couldn’t be easier to assemble, though I wish it screwed into place—I’m a bit worried that it could slide off with an overly enthusiastic jump. But, cat is happy and so am I!
Unhappy cats
I love the scratching post but the red perch is worthless. It is attached with velcro and does not stay on. I have 24 cats and was excited to get this for them. They love the post but the perch pad falls off as soon as they sit on it. I am trying to think of a way to keep it attached but so far I have no idea.

Nice concept with minor flaws
The scratching post is decent and sturdy. However, the sisal has multiple knots/bumps that invite chewing and is wrapped in two separate halves of the post. (Awkward aesthetics). The perch pad is nice, but it does not lock in place. We had to use double-sided tape to lock it in place so that the kitten did not pull the perch off onto himself when he climbed up the post to get to the top.
