I had gotten a scratching post quite a while ago that had the perch included. My cats loved it. I recently found a similar scratching post and ordered it for the living room, but it didn’t have a perch. So when I saw this on Chewy, I ordered it right away. I fitted it on the scratching post and my cat took to it right away. It’s about the same height as the window sill so she loves to sit on it and look out the window, or just survey her territory. So glad I found this and got it for her!
My cat really enjoyed this perch for the first few days, but one of the velcro straps that held the cushion onto the perch tore off when she jumped onto it.
Our cats already love the smartcat scratching post so when I saw this perch, I knew I had to get it. The perch was so easy to attach - just remove from the box and slide onto the top of the post. I wasn't sure if it would stay in place but we haven't had any problems with it moving. Our one cat just loves scratching the post and then climbing up and hoisting himself onto the perch to look out the window. I like that it's detachable so if we ever need to replace the post, we can simply move the perch onto a new base. Great purchase!
I have multiple cats and just got a kitten so I decided to add this to the scratching post. It does slide around, however, mine is backed up next to my sofa and it’s more secure than free standing. The size is nice. I would like options on colors.
I noticed that many people are saying that the pad should be included with the post. Mine was originally, so apparently that is an option. As to the replacement I just bought, I thought I was just buying the pad, not the whole shelf haha. My dog pulled the old pad off the shelf, and chewed up some of the velcro. Plus after 15 years or so, it had faded. So nice to have a fresh, clean, bright red pad. And an extra shelf, I guess l 0 I've never had any trouble with it not staying firmly attached, must say Picture is of the old one, but you get the idea
I’ve had this scratch post and perch for years and needed to replace the top pad. It came with the perch as a package. My cats use it constantly as a scratch post and love to be on the perch in front of a window. It’s big enough to curl up on and play with those below.
My young, boisterous, inquisitive kitten loves this scratching post and perches on his pad most of the day looking out the window. He has loved scratching and biting off the velcro. The more velcro I applied, the more he ripped off. I have used a staple gun to hold it in place and time will tell how long it holds. This is the only negative to this perch.....my kitten loves it and I recommend it. Manufacturer needs to come up with a more secure fastening system but we've fixed that on this end.
I purchased my 2nd Ultimate cat scratching post along with this MUST-HAVE perch for a different room. He loves and uses both!
This add-on for the scratching post does not attach tightly to the scratching post. Our cat wont use it. Don’t recommend.
This should come with the post instead of being an add on. Also, it should be made in the colors that match the post. Regardless of those facts, it doubled the size of the perch which allows two kitties to sit on top and one to sleep. They love it!
