Description

Give your kitty double the scratching pleasure he loves with the SmartyKat Claw Tower Double Post Cat Scratcher with Toys. It’s made with carpet and sisal—a plant-sourced fiber that’s just like what your kitty would find in nature—it’s the perfect go-to scratcher to keep nails healthy and soothe stress. The carpet surface lets your pal dig in comfortably and the sisal provides a rough surface to turn scratching into a mini-workout. Since it sits upright and extra tall, it also lets your kitty stretch as he scratches, and includes removable catnip-infused toys to keep your kitty coming back for more. Plus, it’s easy to put together and includes a sturdy base that can stand up to everyday scratching.

Key Benefits
  • Made with two scratching surfaces—soft carpet and rugged sisal for the scratching variety even picky cats love.
  • Helps promote healthy nail growth, relieve stress and redirect scratching away from furniture.
  • Sisal is made of natural plant fibers and actually feels like scratching surfaces your kitty would find in nature.
  • Includes catnip-infused toys that stick to the scratcher or can be used on their own for added play.
  • Super-sized design is tall enough for your kitty to stretch as he scratches to promote healthy muscle tone.

    Easy to assemble and small

    By on

I've been looking for a scratching post that doesn't take over my apartment. This is just the right size for the cats the stretch out, without taking up a lot of real estate. It takes 5 minutes to put together and has been an instant hit. It hasn't completely stopped them from scratching furniture, though.

    Tower is half OK

    By on

I love the height this tower gives my big boys, but the carpeted top isn't sturdy enough. I haven't had it quite two weeks yet and the carpet is already starting to string out. The green divider is also slightly loose. Hopefully it'll still last long enough for them to enjoy. The height was too much to pass up. My three youngest are all over 12 pounds with a 30 inch reach minimum.

    Great Scratcher

    By on

My 3 cats love it. I love the height because they can stand up and stretch while scratching. I put it at the corner of my bed where they were scratching my box spring and they haven't touched my bed since. The toys are just cheap felt toys but they bat them around sometimes and have fun. Didn't give it 5 stars because it is a little unstable and was tipped over one morning when I woke up, but that isn't really a big deal. Overall it's worth it, especially for the low price.

    Perfect for our needs

We got a new couch and we wanted to teach our cat to use the scratchers in place of the couch but needed something tall enough so she could get the full stretch she often used the other couch for. She has never cared for sisal before (we have a million scratchers) so I wasn't sure about this but with the carpet top half I thought we would try since it fit the height criteria. Well, she loves it. She's even using the sisal part! She instantly went to it when I set it up and I've only had to move her to it a few times when she starts to stretch/scratch on a part of the couch, she generally prefers it over the couch, though. My cat loves it

    By on

Great scratching post for the price. I was worried it would be too short for my cat who can reach up to my counter top standing on his hind legs but I sprayed some cat nip spray on it to make it extra enticing and my cat took right to it. I haven't had to get after him for scratching where he shouldn't. The base is pressed board/MDF not cardboard like some have said in other reviews. The board is split so it fits in the packaging. It would be better if it were whole, hense the 4 stars. Haven't had a problem yet but my cat can only get to the scratcher from one side so we'll see. It seems pretty solid so if it gets totally worn out it could probably be rewrapped with sturdy rope to renew Great scratching post for the price. Almost perfect, one flaw

    By on

I have two cats and when I saw this double carpet and sisal rope scratcher, I thought perfect. One cat loves the rope and the other carpet. I also loved that it was really tall, 36” which is good for them to stretch. It’s hard to find tall scratchers. Since I’ve gotten this scratcher, both cats have actually been scratching on both fabrics. It also has ribbon hanging from the top to entice them as well as velcro, catnip toys that attach to the carpet part of the scratcher. So I do love it. One FLAW that lost points was the base, it’s either not wide enough or heavy enough for the height of the scratcher. When my cats scratch on the pole it topples over. I’ve have to stick part of the base under the cat tree to hold it down. I need to come up with a solution for that. I’m still giving it a 4 star because it’s so loved by my cats. … more

Tall, good extras but not heavy enough

    By on

My kitty loves this post. The height is good and the Velcro toys are awesome. He had a hard time figuring out how to pull them off at first, but he figured out he can use his teeth and now I find them everywhere. Only flaw is that he can knock it over pretty easily. If he tries to scratch but doesn’t stand on the base it comes right down. He still seems to enjoy it that way so no biggie to him. I’d prefer it was upright, if it had a heavier base it would be 5 stars.

    Perfect for my two kittens!

    By on

My two kittens love this post. They're able to scale to the top together without it tipping and love both the sisal and carpet. Definitely recommend - especially if you want non-ugly cate accessories in your house.

    Our cats love it!

    By on

We purchased a 3 tier one by smarty kat and our cats tore it up within 3 weeks. This 2 tier one is lasting longer and our cats love it. Our kitten especially loves climbing to the top.

Great upper materials, poor card board base.

    By on

I bought this post because my new 2 year old girl started using my dining chairs as a scratching post. She LOVED this scratching post right out of the box. Easy assembly. The upper pole is carpet material, the lower is the roping. It has cute Velcro ‘toys’ to attach to the pole. My kitty loved it! She used both the carpet & the rope to sharpen on & stopped using my chair..... until the base snapped in half & it wouldn’t stand straight on its own anymore. It is cheap cardboard. Since she loved it, my husband bought mending braces for the bottom to try to mend the break. I’m sure it will eventually give again since it is a shoddy base. I would have spent $5 for a better pressed board base.
