I am hesitant to use any kind of laser toy, due to potential harm to their eyesight if they end up looking straight at the light or it gets accidentally pointed at their eyes. How is this safe in that regard?

Temporary exposure of the laser will probably not cause damage, but extended exposure can bring potential harm.
Do u have to hold the button for the laser to be on?

The toy would require for the button to held down to activate the laser.

Very fun toy for my crazy cat

One of my cats is obsessed with this toy. She goes crazy chasing the lazer light. It is good exercise and fun. My other cat could care less. He just lays back and watches his older sister running around like a loon.

Not a big fan

Our cat could care less about the laser but loved the decorations hanging from the end but that part fell off less than 3 weeks after we got it. :-(

Both our big and little cat love this

I am buying a second one after roughly 6 months. The laser still works but they tore this thing to shreds! Only bad thing about it is that the plastic tubes shed. Held up ok against a 27 pound Maine Coon though.

I can play with both cats at once!

I got this so I could play with my laser obsessed cat and my ribbon obsessed cat at the same time and it WORKS! No more jealous kitties!

Great Fun for all

She really loves this toy. It gets her up and moving, great exercise. I would definitely recommend this toy.

Poorly designed

I got this toy from another website several years ago and it is... okay, at best. The laser died quickly and it's impossible to try and use it while the toy is attached to the tip, unless you decide to hold the wand upside-down. Not to mention how short the wand itself is, rendering it borderline useless - at least for an older cat. Would not recommend.

SmartyKat Laser Wand

My cat already has one, and she drags it around and loves playing with the "ribbons" on the wand. I bought this as a second, so that when she finally destroys the first, she'll have a second one.

Perfect toy for small cats with a lot of energy

My cat is obsessed with this toy! We've gone through 3 of them because he plays with this toy every single day. He loves to drag the toy around the house when he wants to play and it keeps him entertained for hours

Great laser beam, wand too short

In my opinion, this wand was clearly produced incorrectly. It is way too short for me to play with my kitten. I am used to longer wand toys. The ad was deceptive. And the packaging is not clear as to whether the cord was planned to be this short or if it was made wrong. The laser beam is nice though.
