Does the bottom have material on it so it does not scratch hardwood floors?

Really irked

I bought this because it didn’t require tools to assemble it. Not only does it require a screwdriver, not so bad, but it’s impossible to get the screw out to attach it to the base. It would have been better if the screw had just come separately!

New semi feral cat

So we ended adopting a new very young cat who has not lived inside before . I showed her the new scratching post once when she started to scratch a doorframe. She uses both the scratching posts upstairs and downstairs.

She likes it!!

Bought this for my semi-ferral barn cat when she moved to garage space a bit ago. In the barn she clawed the wood posts. New digs and she was going after the tires on my vehicle! So I bought this post hoping she would use it instead. It seemed similar to the wood posts so hoped it would please her. And she loves it! No more attacking the tires! And the feather toy, well that she will bat around sometimes. And then do more work on the post. I put a couple small bricks on the base to help weight it down. Not sure it made much difference, but now she doesn't move it around on the floor. I now have a happier cat.

Don't waste your money!

Very poorly made. My cat had this torn apart in just a few weeks. Surprisingly the toy at the top outlived the scratching post itself.

Cats Don't Use

This scratching post is different from the others I have scattered around the house. My two cats won't use it and I'm not sure why. It is shorter and thinner than their other posts.

Very small

I should have read more about this before ordering. It would be great for a kitten, but too small for grown cats. While my biggest cat likes it, I know he’s going to knock it over often. The base is narrow and covered w/ very cheap fabric. It won’t last long at my house.
