Our boy goes through pizzle sticks, salmon skin chews, tracheas, ETC really quickly. Like 2 minutes they're annihilated, and our dog is an 11 pound min-pin mix. However cow hooves (any brand) take him FOREVER to chew. Seriously I gave him one months ago, and tooth marks are the only sign of wear, and he still hasn't lost interest in it. He'll go find it whenever he's bored. Considering we have a small dog, there's not a choking risk - but I've read dogs can chip their teeth on these, so I'd watch out for that. They are a bit stinky when dog saliva gets on them, but whatever, if my dog's happy I'm happy! Another con is the unnecessary plastic packaging. I'm trying to reduce single use plastic in my life, so I'll probably just buy from a local pet store where they're package-free. … more

  • My dogs love these

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Both my dogs love to chew on these & I have ordered them frequently for several years, but the last 3 times I have received them they have all been broken into little pieces. So will try one more time only. I have a 5 pound & a 35lb minnie aussie, they r just right for both of them.

  • Not for strong chewers

    By on

I got some of these because my boxer/pits love to chew on them. However these were very weak and it took less than 5 minutes before they had them broken into a bunch of little pieces and I had to take them away so they didn't choke. Possibly better for lite chewers.

  • They STINK!!

    By on

So my dogs loved these and I liked that they lasted a long time, BUT, they smell sooooo bad!! My husband told me not to buy them anymore. I would've rated them 5 stars if the smell wasn't so awful...

  • Would Be Good For Small Dogs

    By on

Very small in size, I have actually never seen one this small before, she still likes to chew on it, just makes me nervous as it is so small.

  • Disintegrated in 5.6 seconds

    By on

I don't have a power chewer but my 1 year old mix loves hooves and has made one I bought at Soldan's last months but the one delivered to me from here shattered the first time he put his mouth on it. I am keeping it on auto ship for one more month but if that one doesn't do better, I'm taking it off. I received a black one but his original one that lasted longer was white so perhaps that makes a difference? We shall see...

  • Don't waste your money

    By on

I bought this thinking it was similar to another hoove we purchased that lasted a long time. This one was half the size of the one we purchased from the store and didn't last more than 5 minutes. It started splintering and had to be thrown out. I know it's cheap but I thought it would hold up a little better based on the picture....it did not show up as pictured. Don't waste your money.

  • Thor Approved

Thor is a heavy chewer (pitbull). And this thing actually lasted 3 or 4 hours. Raw hides usually last 15 minutes

  • Picky dog don't like them

    By on

I bought 2 of these for my dog thinking he would love to have something to chew or gnaw on that lasted more then a few minutes or hours. I still have not opened the second one since he absolutely refuses to even look at the one I offered him. Least they did not cost me much to find out my picky dog won't even give them a try.
