I have a 100lb ridgeback, so I bought the XL. The bedding footprint was massive. A good sign for my large doggo. However, after wrestling the stuffing into the lining, the blanket part was incredibly taut. There is no way my dog would have been able to get inside it, much less fit beneath the blanket. Even our 40lb lab would not have been able to get under the opening very easily, and even if she had, the blanket part would have been very tight on her. This would probably work for the toy breeds, it won’t work for large breeds. Pros: nice scent of sandalwood, good suede covering, stuffing was very fluffy.
I purchased this bed for my Potcake dog ( Jacob is an island dog from Turks and Caicos). Hes a weird dog, hes afraid of everything new, but he wasnt afraid of this bed. It took a few times of encouragement to get him to go inside. He went in half way a few times and he went all the way inside turned around and laid down with his head at the opening. I think he was actually smiling. When he sleeps in our bed he likes to be under the covers. Hes been kicked out of the bed because he was being too protective of me when my husband was in bed. I felt bad he couldnt go under the covers. Now he can cover himself. People complain about it being overstuffed. The fluff will settle. Even if it dosent, thats fine too. I purchased the XL and I never imagined spending so much on a dog bed, but it really is worth every cent.
I decided after having the small sherpa lined dog cave bed that my dogs just love! that I would obtain another bed that the same dogs that cram themselves into the small bed, having a xlarge bed even better. Two dogs, one super large long 25 lb purebred chihuahua built like a tank and one dainty parti poodle 10 pound giesselle like skinny thing. The bed was so overstuffed literally nothing could fit inside, not unless I found a mini step ladder to hoist them up! So full that the inside roof of the bed was pressing against the bottom. So! We removed three 13 gallon trashbags stuffed full of nice new green polyester filler the kind used for throw pillows. Even then its not enough filler. The cloth used seems quality enough, sherpa is the same as the bed I bought from Snoozer the first year they were selling! I think this is a situation where no one is checking quality. Which is sad, I have enough extra filling to literally fill 4 king sized pillows! Which I plan on finding zip up cushion covers and repurposing the extra filler from this dog bed into more pillows for the dogs. I feel bad for Snoozer because obviously someone somewhere is losing money with all the extra filler being sent out to customers.
We got this bed for our 3 month old Jack Russel terrier. Not much hair & we wanted her to be “covered” at night. It came promptly & she absolutely loves it! She burrows back in & comes out toasty warm!
My dog is often cold, so this looked like it would be good for him. It's soft and warm, the opening stay up nicely, seems well made. Getting him to use it was a challenge. Tried placing treats in the back, he'd stretch in, grab them and leave. Finally got him in and used 'stay' for a few treats until he could feel the warmth. I just now walked into the room and found him sleeping inside it. He went in on his own and looks happy. Hope this will help him sleep in during the cold months.
My Viszla absolutely loves this thing. X-Large may have been a little too big for my 60-pound 2-year-old but other than that very satisfied with it.
The support bar is a major issue, as the top will not stay up making it difficult for our dog to enter or feel comfortable..................have to hold it up, and then collapses on him.
My animals all love this bed, this is the go to for all of them. They have 2 now but it looks like I need more so all 4 animals have a comfy cozy place to lay. This bed has withstood my rooting pigs, hands down the best bed I’ve ever purchased.
My min pin would not have anything to do with this! It’s so poorly made, because they are relying on you folding the pillow in half to stuff it, but there is no support to hold the top up. The dog will just get stuck and smother, so find a product where the top will stand away from the base enough to keep Your pet safe
We have a German Shorthair, who likes to be covered when he sleeps. My husband. Would tuck him in every night and I would cover him when he woke up at night because his blanket was off. Artie loves this bed. We do not use the bar to keep it open because some time he lays on top. I am buying a second one for upstairs.
