How do you remove the plastic tubing?

There is a small slit in the fur about an inch up from where the hood meets the bed. It is typically on the left side but may be on the right. You can remove the tubing there, wash and dry your cover, and then reinsert the tubing.
Is the opening supported or does it lay flat when the dog isn't inside?

The plastic tubing does not stay open. The cover opening is about 4-5 inches. This is just enough for the dog to get inside, using their nose! The cover is more like a blanket than a free standing roof. The plastic tubing is removable.
