Save your floors and furniture with Soft Claws Nail Caps for Dogs. A brilliant solution to destructive scratching, Soft Claws works by simply capping your dog’s claws with a vinyl cover. It applies easily with a safe and non-toxic adhesive, and will not interfere with his normal activity—which means even the most particular pup won’t mind wearing them. Key Benefits
  • Developed by a veterinarian as a simple solution to problematic scratching and made in the USA.
  • Vinyl caps cover the front paw nails to reduce and soften the effects of destructive scratching.
  • Can also be applied to hind claws to protect against skin conditions aggravated by scratching.

  • Each application lasts four to six weeks, and each kit comes with a four to six-month supply.

Instructions

How to Apply Soft Paws®

1: Trim the nail tip.

2: Fill nail caps 1/3 full with adhesive. Give the nail cap a gentle squeeze to distribute the glue evenly and release any air bubbles. If glue oozes out of the nail cap, you have inserted too much adhesive. Remove some of the glue by squeezing it out onto a paper towel.

3: Slide nail caps onto nail. The nail cap should not touch the dog's nail cuticle. If it the cap is too large, trim the open end of the nail cap to create a better fit.

4: Observe dog for five minutes before releasing. You can pet your dog or feed it a few of its favorite treats to distract.

    mission accomplished

By WiseDi on Jun 19, 2021

My 80-85 lb staffy is a 14 yr ol codger with bad hips and painful arthritis who slid all over my natural hardwood floor. I had the groomer apply these XXX-Large after she clipped his nails. Note: they only work while standing and walking, they do not work when trying to rise from laying down and vise versa. He's figured that out and only lays down on area rugs or his bed so he can lay and rise w/o as much trouble.

    Dried Glue

By Annie on May 25, 2021

The caps would be perfect for my dog...if the adhesive wasn’t solid as a rock! Disappointed that I cannot try these out because of the dried glue. The package comes with two tubes, and both are dried up.

    Life saver!

By Inie on Mar 7, 2021

These are literally a life saver. My dog has arthritis and he drags his front paws. Sometimes it gets very bad and it becomes a bloody and painful situation. One of his claws was worn down to the quick. I have ordered 17 boots in all styles and sizes to protect his claws but none of them stayed on. You have to let the claws heal first before putting the claw caps on though. Ive been wrapping my dogs feed with cotton and stretch wrap for a few weeks and his right foot has healed to the point where I was able to glue them on and i am so happy with the results. My dog is a good boi so he doesn’t even try to chew them off. They last about a week due to him dragging his paws but I’d imagine they These are literally a life saver. I put so much hope into these as I literally didn’t know what else to do and they did not disappoint. … more

    Do not buy

By Andi on Mar 10, 2021

Bought product for my dog, received quickly(thank you Chewy). The glue is crap, hard in the tubes and not able to use it. Chewy sent me a replacement and same issue. Glue is old and can’t be used. Chewy refunded the cost.

    Absolutely LOVE

By Anna on Dec 8, 2020

We’ve bought these caps because unfortunately our frenchies had an accident and injured her right leg that now causes her to drag her nails until they bleed. These caps have helped her tremendously and are very satisfied.

    Surprisingly Cool

By Ozzy on Jan 27, 2021

I was shocked Ozzy hasn’t’ been bothered by his one rear paw having blue nails. It has helped his scratching at his new growth on his ear.

    Depends on your dog

By doodlebob on Aug 9, 2020

Honestly this depends on your dog. If your dog doesn’t mess with their paws and lets you touch them then use it!! Highly recommend. However, if your dog is very active then they might wear down sooner. I’ve put them on my 60 pound doodle mix and she wears out her back ones pretty quick, which is why I try not to trim the faux nails before I put them on. Id say it lasted her a week before they started wearing down. You have to mess with the nails a little before you put them on so you don’t get glue everywhere. Otherwise the colors are very cute and she’s not scratching our wood floors anymore :)

    Helped senior dog mobility

By Sara on Aug 26, 2020

We tried many things to help our 15 year old senior from slipping on our hardwood. We tried rubber band toe grips, skid socks and booties. These were the only thing that helped her. With rubber band toe grips, they fell off everywhere. With socks and booties, she just got them off her feet. Not to mention dogs sweat from the paws, it helps with traction. It does help a little with cooling down as well. So having socks or shoes on them all the time is not great to do either. I would recommend giving these a try as they are not super expensive and for us it was the only solution we found that worked.
