Questions & Answers

13 Customer Questions

how many cups does a 7lb bag make?
Answer by ChewyDec 23, 2019
The 1.75 pound bag will make up to 10 pounds of food and contain close to 8.75 dry cups. The 7 pound bag will make up to 40 pounds of food and contain close to 35 dry cups.

If I divide the feeding once I add water can I serve half and refrigerate and serve second half later? How long is it good for after water is added?
Answer by ChewyAug 16, 2019
Any leftover food should be treated like fresh food. Either discard leftovers or cover and refrigerate. Store in a food-safe, air-tight container. Because Sojos food products contain raw meat, handle with care, as you would any meal you’re preparing and storing for yourself. Sojos is best served fresh, within 24 hours of prep.

Are the Meats cooked or freeze dried in a raw state?
Answer by ChewyJan 15, 2019
Sojos complete food recipes include a combination of gently freeze-dried meat—and air-dried fruits & veggies. All ingredients in all of Sojos' foods are raw. Meat begins to cook at 115 degrees. But fruits and veggies have a higher cook-temp and can be dehydrated via air-drying, while maintaining the nutritious enzymes only found in raw ingredients. There can be a little confusion about the term ‘dehydrated’ because meat cannot be dehydrated and remain raw. But fruits and veggies can indeed be dehydrated and remain raw.

Is this food good to give as a replacement to dry kibble entirely?
Answer by ChewyNov 15, 2019
This food is a complete and balanced blend of raw, uncompromised ingredients in every bowl and can be a permanent replacement for kibble if desired.

Dogs hate it

First dog tried it for two days and then said, "Nope". Second dog ate it the first day and then spent the day drooling and in physical distress all day. I was worried I poisoned him. He won't even look at it now. This was a very expensive venture that didn't pan out. I have since talked to other people whose dogs have had same reaction.

Easy and healthy

I feed this to my 5 year old 140 lb Great Dane. He eats 4 cups of dry sojos per day. It’s been 3 years And he loves it. I supplement with kibble that I free feed but he doesn’t eat much of that. His coat is beautiful and shiny and his allergies are gone and his ears are clean and non-itchy. I recommend to everyone

Great Results

Senior dog quit eating. This was the only food I found that she would eat, and she is now doing much better. Expensive but worth it.

Sojos Complete

WE finally found this complete dehydrated food for our 75 lb Lab. She was suffering from allergies\ with itchy paws and ears. After putting her on this food for breakfast and Sojos mix and match for supper (we add protein chicken) she has been stable and her weight is consistent. I would recommend

Great food!

This freeze dried dog food is made with high quality ingredients, and it is more affordable than other freeze dried dog foods. My local pet supply store carries it, so I know I am confident the product is quality and healthy for my dog. My dog loves it, and my cats even try to steal it!

Solid but not for this old gal

My old pit mix turns 13 tomorrow September 1st. I had been using Purina Pro Plan for Sensitive Stomach but hated how much powder that kibble would give off. Since switching to this, she destroys her bowl. I did notice her stomach started making weird noises and finds herself eating grass now more often. Her stools are solid but she did throw up once already. I think the food is solid but being grain free, I think it is missing what her previous kibble would provide for her diet. No knock on the food here, would be great if they had a senior option with select grains.

Easy and dog loves it

We had tried some other freeze-dried foods and they were a bit of a hassle with smashing the nuggets in the water. This is so simple, scoop out some Sojos, add water and stir around a bit. Our dog loves it.

Our beagles love this food. So easy to prepare just add water. Make it up the night before for about 3 mornings. Good breakfast food.
