Feeding Instructions
Dog’s WeightRecommended Amount of Food Per Day (cups)
2 – 15 lbs1/4 - 1
16 – 30 lbs1 – 1 3/4

Follow the feeding chart above (we recommend splitting this into two meals per day). Feeding amounts are guidelines only and may vary based on activity level, health condition, life stage, and temperature. Additional foods, treats and chews may alter this balance.

If Feeding Puppies, Lactating & Gestating Females: Puppies start to nibble on solid food at 3 to 4 weeks of age. We recommend moistening dry food with warm water or Solid Gold canned food through weaning (6 to 8 weeks of age). Maintain your puppy’s ideal body condition. Appetite changes are normal with most puppies. Lactating/gestating females may need two to three times more food than shown in the table.

Transition Instructions

Switching to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold over the next 5 to 7 days until your dog is eating Solid Gold exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.

Solid Gold Mighty Beef is 5 paws

    By on

My dog loves this food. It’s hard to find in pet stores since many people don’t know about this brand. It is high quality food and my dogs like it better than the boring vet food they were prescribed. This one is good for dogs that are sensitive to many ingredients. Highly recommend it.

    Smaller Kibble for Tiny Dogs

    By on

Looked for a small kibble that did not contain too much fat. Previously tried the pumpkin flavor which went good. However, the due date on this was 1 month out when received. Ordered this during black Friday specials. Chewy should not sell short due date food without notifying the buyer.

No pleasing scent to entice my dog to sniff and eat.

    By on

My 14 lb rescued terrier mix just had no interest in trying this. I have only found one dry food she will occasionally eat and it has a strong scent that encourages her to try it.

    Good Quality Dog Food

    By on

Got this food to mix in to add some calories to my dogs diet and they seem to love it! It's really high calorie per cup and I like that as a mix in for my dogs daily food to get her to keep some weight on her!
