We recommend splitting these daily guidelines into 2 meals. Feeding amounts are guidelines and may vary based on activity, health condition, life stage, temperature. It is important to maintain your pet’s body condition for long-term health. Solid Gold pet foods are complete and balanced; additional foods, treats and chews may alter that balance. Offer fresh water daily. We recommend your dog see the veterinarian annually.
Puppies, Lactating & Gestating Females: Puppies start to nibble on solid food at 3 - 4 weeks. We recommend moistening dry food with warm water or Solid Gold canned food through weaning (6 - 8 weeks). Maintain your puppy’s ideal body condition. Appetite changes are normal with most puppies. Lactating /gestating females may need 2 - 3 times more food than shown in the table.
Switching to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold over the next 5 - 7 days until your dog is eating Solid Gold exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.

Only issue I've had is the switched their formula and you guys sent me the small bags like 3 or 4 times instead of the the big bags and charged me like 24 a bag and they filled up the dogs bowl 2 times and was gone.. and I had to change my auto ship like 5 times.
my dog loves the dog food, But you are charging me a shipping charge, so if will add the dog food to my feed that I order every 3 weeks, send the dog food every 9 weeks, with my feed which is 500.00 every 3weeks if not I will cancel the dog food, please let me know.
I love this! So glad my momma switched from the chicken to the beef! I eat it up every time.
My lab had loose stool no matter what she ate. Had stool samples checked several times and results always negative. Vet decided she had irritable bowel disease and put her on prescription diet dog food that didn't help at all. Gave up and cooked food. It worked much better but got expensive to constantly cook food. Then I did research on Chewy with Solid Gold dog food. I found this so bought a small bag and added gradually to cooked food. Saw a change right away. She now has nice solid stool. Such a relief. It took two years and finally found food for her that is good for her digestive system.
What else can I say? My GSD, Rocky, has had chronic ear, paw & skin problems all his life. I have tried him on several different foods, from the most expensive on down, carefully switching him in between and leaving him on them long enough to see they helped a little bit (but not all the way) or they made it worse. I always also used the same food for his treats while doing his 'food trials' just to make sure nothing would taint the trial. My Vet (convinced it was external allergies) gave me Apoquel, Prednisone and ear cleaning and treatment meds for him. I may not be a Vet, but the fact that some foods made it better while others made it worse was telling me to keep trying different foods with different ingredients and, in the end, if none worked, I would follow my Vet's prescriptions. Well, THIS FOOD CURED HIM OF ALL! His ears cleared up and he stopped chewing at his skin and paws! My Vet is very smart and medically competent... but both she and I are glad she was wrong in this case. Hey, she may have just as well been right. But I wasn't going to quit until I tried all other options. It may or may not work for your dog's ear, skin and paw issues, since they all have different chemistries (even within the same breeds) but it's sure worth a try before sentencing them to a life of Apoquel, Prednisone & ear medicines. If you try this food, just remember not to give your dog any other treats or food while doing the trial. If it works, you can do treat trials afterwards to see which ones bring back issues or not. THANK YOU Solid Gold! Your Grain Free Beef, Egg & Pea Dry Dog Food cured my sweet boy. We are grateful and happy beyond words!!!
I have tried well over 10 different high protein dog foods for my sporting dogs, including Purina, Eukanuba, Victor, Inukshuk, Country Vet, NutriSource, I could go on, and none of them come close to Solid Gold. If you are going to feed kibble, this is the food for your dogs. My dogs absolutely devour it, and it does exactly what it says it’s going to do: give your dogs the highest quality ingredients, most optimal fuel in the right ratio, the lowest stomach issues, and the best tasting product on the market. From puppy to senior, their entire product line is just superior. it is expensive which is the only drawback, it is almost double the closest competitor so for some it might be a stretch if you have multiple dogs. But if you have dogs that have had hundreds upon hundreds of training hours, hunt tests, field trials, etc. and spend $$$ on their care and maintenance, you can’t afford not to give them the best food out there. Buy this food for your sporting dogs you won’t regret it!
We were having troube keeping weight on our elderly large breed dog. I tried several things, increasing the amount of her feed (which she had been on for years), peanut butter kongs, etc. She fell from barely meeting weight to underweight, and the vet told me that as dogs get olderit is harder for them to absorb nutrients. After a google search, I tried this, and she put on 11 pounds in 3 weeks! She has a lot of allergies, and has not had any problem with this as well. I have since put her on a different Solid Gold formula to maintain her weight, that also boasts good absorption, since she definetely does not need to gain more. She loves both Solid Gold options, and gobbles them enthusiasticly. The price is pretty reasonable as well.
Solid Gold dog food is very healthy. My Pomeranian loves this food.
I started feeding my German Shepherd this food due to having elevated liver numbers, so I changed his food to see if after a month the numbers would change. He enjoys this food, he use to have really itchy ears and since being in this food I noticed he is not rubbing or scratching his ears. His eyes recently started to run when he eats, I also notice since being on this food it doesn’t happen nearly as much as they use to. When I get his numbers rechecked if they lowered I will update after
It took me an entire year to finally find a food that my picky dog will eat. She turned her nose up at every single food brand we tried to give her - except for this one. She would literally not eat for days because she would just sniff the bowl and walk away with other dog foods. But with this stuff, she RUNS to her food bowl and it disappears in 30 seconds. The small kibble size makes it easier for her to eat and it’s wonderful for her sensitive stomach and skin allergies. I HIGHLY recommend this product.
