Switching to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold over the next 5 to 7 days until your dog is eating Solid Gold exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.
This is our third bad of Solid Gold dog food. So far this is the BEST dog food I have found as far as nutrition and source of ingredients. They are totally honest and open about where ingredients come from (Nothing comes from China, which can’t be trusted). AND this new formula our dog really likes the taste better than the old formula, well worth the extra $6!
We have used Solid Gold Dry Dog Food since 1998. Solid Gold is the Best Dog Food out there! They were the first holistic dog food out there I believe. Their quality shows in our dog! We had an English Lab and she was with us from a new born pup until her passing after 15 years. Never had any health issues and always had a Beautiful Coat! Even our vet attributed her health and coat to the Solid Gold food! Now we have had our second Lab and she is going to be 10 years old in a few months. She is an American Lab from totaly different bloodlines and her coat is just as beautiful and she has remained healthy as well! Thank you Solid Gold!!! (We do miss the bagel biscuts)
My underweight senior dog was rapidly brought up to a healthy weight by another Solid Gold product (Barking at the Moon). We decided to go with this as a maintainace, as her vet said she was having difficulty abosorbing nutrients as she aged. She loved both options, and gobbles them up in rapid fashion. We are feeding her the amount on the bag, and her weight is steady, and her coat looks a lot better. Her gut tolerates well, no digestive issues.
I've been feeding this to my dogs for a long time, at least 10 yrs, and they are so healthy! I love this dog food.
Our dog usually does well with lamb and duck, but this food did not sit well with her. She started having stomach problems throwing up, even with a small introduction of the food. We tried it for 2 weeks and it didn't get any better. Giving this 2 stars because she did seem to enjoy the taste.
I did a trial run with a small bag of food to see if my dog liked it and while she preferred the other two I tested, she did eat it just fine so I got a big bag since it was the cheaper of the three. She did ok with it for a week or two and then all of a sudden she got diarreah and had so many accidents in the house. I thought she was sick so I tried some home remedies and nothing helped until I switched her food. I don't know what that was about but we won't use this food again.
I have an extremely picky Goldendoodle. He also has an allergy to Chicken. We have tried many, many foods. This Solid Gold Hund-n-Flocken Nutrient Boost is excellent dog food! My picky dog loves it, and, it doesn't upset his belly! Win, Win.
This is my 2nd purchase of this Solid Gold Food on Chewy. My dog loves this food and it is also good for weight management. I know that Solid Gold has great ingredients, and I have not fiund this flavor in the local pet stores. My GSD loves the taste!
Very happy with Chewy autoship! Very happy with speaking TO ALL chewy techs, they're knowledgeable, nice and very friendly
I received this product as part of a free sample program and thought it would be a great way to find a new option for good dog food for my fur babies. I have to say i was very impressed how excited all 4 were when i opened the bag. So much that I was able to use it as "treat bribery". I was worried how my Yorkie would react to it as she has a sensitive stomach and can't tolerate some foods but they all did well on it and had no stomach issues. I deducted 1 star simply because of the mixed size of the kibble. Some pieces are small and some larger. It's a con for my smaller dogs but a pro for the larger. It gives a fun mixed shape of food for the two big dogs but for the 2 smaller dogs I have some of the pieces are a bit on the larger size and therefor harder to chew. I have to look and see if a small breed option/smaller bites are available for the smaller ones as they loved it. Most importantly I love the clean ingredient list for this dog food and after seeing how excited my dogs get when I pull this food out I'm now considering switching to this as their main meal.
