We switched to this food as the usual Solid Gold food we get has been discontinued. Diesel is a happy boy on this and I like that it is grain free and has added ingredients to keep him happy and healthy!
My dog loves the food but he is a 90lb Labrador and he eats a lot. So he is not picky. What I can say is when we are walking and I have to clean up after him. Everything looks okay in his BM. Would recommend this food
I have two very different puppers and they are both having different experiences with this food. My Basset is nearly five and an absolute piggy; slow feeder bowls are no match for him, although they have curbed his post-binge vomiting significantly. But he hasn’t been terribly interested in this food, even though he loved Solid Gold wet food as a puppy. Since starting this food, he’s had a bit of an upset stomach, vomiting occasionally and then a change in his poops, resulting in several failed attempts while at the dog park this past weekend after a sudden bout of diarrhea. My other dog is a three-year old chihuahua-schnauzer mix rescue and he’s picky… While the Basset will gladly gobble of broccoli stalks and any other healthy scraps I’m willing to provide, the little one will accept whatever it is and then discard it a few feet away. However, he’s been eating this food as normal and hasn’t had any tummy trouble (although he never has.) This was a short-noticed substitution after their favorite dry food was discontinued, but I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing due to the lack of enthusiasm and potential stomach irritation.
I’ve had my GSDs on Fromm food for about a year now. While that’s a great brand, the main ingredient is chicken. My poor dogs are sensitive to chicken. I’ve noticed my shepherds skin and coat is getting so much better on this formula of Solid Gold. I’m transitioning my other 2 shepherds to this food. They absolutely love this flavor and I’m glad I gave it a shot!
Aurora loves this food! When we adopted her that was the kind of food the shelter was feeding her. We wanted to make her transition easier for her by not changing what see eat. Now we just need to find toys she cannot destroy and bones that Will be safe that will last this strong chewer!
We had recently changed foods to a recommended food and transitioned them over several weeks. During the transition we noticed these dogs were getting gassy and when the transition was complete they were so gassy it was horrible. We stuck it out for a month and couldn't stand it anymore and switched back to this Solid Gold and transitioned back and had great results within a week.
The Solid Gold dry kibble in several flavors has been my four dogs' favorite for years. Not so anymore. After having to beg, cajole and bribe my pups to eat, I gave up. Luckily I found a new food that they love.
My dog has food allergies and this was recommended. She is doing so well and loves this food. Recommend for sensitive dogs.
We switched our Bernedoodle from Hund n Flocken to this lamb formula. Seems that she may have developed an aversion to lamb. She was finicky about eating the HnF, but she won’t eat Sunday Sunrise at all without a tasty mix in. I will say that her poops have been healthy on both of these foods, but it just isn’t tasty enough for her to enjoy it. Moving on again.
