Switching to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold pet food for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold pet food over the next 5 to 7 days until they are eating a Solid Gold formula exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce any digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.

Returning it cuz the kibble was way too big & he's a Pekingese. I bought cuz somebody said that small dogs can chew it but that's not true & it is so hard i couldn't get it to mush with water even. My dog is a senior he's 13 and he loves the salmon solid gold mighty mini but it is out of stock everywhere so I thought I would try this because he's a senior dog. My dog is like 15 lb. Not much bigger than a small breed so if you are buying it for one its too big of kibble. I will say that solid gold brand is the best there is out there in every way except for you have to buy mighty mini if you have a smaller dog because any of the other ones are too big of kibble.
