    Perfect step for pup

By Mary on Mar 9, 2019

This step easily attaches to the trailer hitch. Our dog loves them and they help him get in and out of the jeep. Great idea but doesn't work 100% for all cars

By ELIF on Aug 16, 2018

I wanted something for my 60+ pound dog to get in and out of the back of my Kia Sorento. We're working on getting him used to the steps. He's trained in agility so I am confident we'll get there. Also, the hitch step interferes with my back up camera. I've tried with and without the steps, doesn't matter - constant beep and sometimes the camera won't turn on. I'm not convinced this is for every car/SUV. I think Solvit has a nice product; however, they should focus it for a subset of vehicles. Also, it would be helpful to have some training tips. I would recommend this with caution. … more

Great for lower cars & SUV vehicles quality well made.

Hi we have a Saint Bernard & 2yr English Mastiff they are just two large to handle this awesome step. This is really well made and quality. It's rare to find items this well made. I do believe our Yukon is too high off ground for this to work with our two big breed dogs. Our dogs need something wider to be able to see it with their wide leg span and body. A medium breed would do really great with this. I wish we had it when we had our labrador.

    Great product

    By on

It's been in use for about two weeks and so far, so good. It was easy to put together and install. It does not interfere with the back up camera on my 2015 Honda Pilot. The dogs learned to use it within minutes and a few cookies. It is easy to fold up and down. The nuts have stayed tight so far. It gets four stars because the pin to secure it to the hitch was cheap and too small in diameter but I had a normal sized hitch pin and so am using that. The only othe complaint is that the non slip material covering the steps is bubbling and was like that on arrival. I imagine it will tear and wear a hole before long but otherwise it is a sturdy, well designed product. Sorry no photos, the review wouldn't It's been in use for about two weeks and so far, so good. English bulldog perfection

I would have given this 5 stars but I can’t store them in the up position on my Jeep due to the spare tire. However this has saved me from constantly having to assist my guy from getting into my Jeep with it’s 4” lift. We both love it!!!

    great for my 100LB Lab

I bought this for my doggy sitter..she needed something to hoist her dogs and my giant fur baby. It dosen't come with a lock, so I give minus 1 star. Otherwise, it serves its purpose.

    Easy install, still training pups

    By on

The hitch step was easy to assemble and install. My dogs, after years of just jumping in the back of the vehicle, were unsure what to do with the steps. However, they were also very nervous to jump into the back of my new SUV (which is higher than my previous vehicle). The best way I found to teach them was to stand at the side of the steps, hold the leash and guide them up the steps. Still working on the exit from the vehicle. They want to jump down which I don't see as a sustainable solution as they get older.

    Great product

    By on

This is an incredible product. My Australians love it cause they don't have to jump so far to the ground and going up isn't a big deal cause they love to jump ! If I had anything negative to add. When you fold the steps up and go somewhere, you would have to remove the steps so that they aren't taken when you leave the vehicle. The fact that they are so easily removed and re-installed, it somewhat negates that problem but leaves the inconvenience of doing all that. After all we purchase all these products to make everything easier !!

    Good solution

    By on

This is a good solution for getting larger dogs into an SUV but there is nothing locking the steps in place so someone could remove them from your vehicle, just leaving the brace behind

    Nice solution!

Great alternative to bulky, heavy ramps. There's a minor downside - interference w proximity alarm/backup camera. Gentle alternative for our devoted companions who just want to go for a ride with us.

Really good, but needs a bit more

    By on

Purchased this item for our Great Dane puppy with a bad hip. Hitch connected great to our Nissan Xterra with good adjustment options. Unfortunately for our pup, the space between the top step and the vehicle was too far, so we had to fabricate our own top step that filled in the gap. We now have 3 steps in to the back of our SUV, which works well. The fold-up feature works great and is a space-saver for fitting in our garage - however leaving the product on does slightly cover our license plate. For a healthy dog that could handle stairs well, this product would be perfect.

    Good product

Easy to assemble, install, use, and store away without taking up space. It's a little bulky on the back of the truck, but anything to help or fur family.
