Description

The SP Travel Kennel Dog Carrier is crafted from durable plastic and is the paw-fect “go to” everyday crate for home and travel. Assembly is quick and easy, and it features everything you and your furry friend needs, including locking snaps to hold the kennel halves together, plus additional metal hardware, ensuring the crate will make it through the journey safe and sound. The metal slats help reduce the chances of your dog chewing through the carrier, while the accident moat helps keep your pet dry by guiding liquids to the edges of the kennel. The strong metal door has a smooth latch that’s easy to grasp and the kennel has a thick, impact-resistant poly shell for added durability. As with any dog carrier, please contact your airline prior to travel to ensure that the measurements meet their requirements. Airline and cargo carrier rules vary between countries and airlines and pet crating and kennel shipment rules change regularly, so please be sure to check with proper authority regarding pet shipments, Reds and pet certifications and immunizations before your furry friend’s travel date.

Key Benefits
  • Available in multiple sizes for kennel-trained pets only.
  • The metal slats help reduce the chances of your pup chewing through the carrier.
  • Sturdy and durable plastic construction makes for easy assembly. The wheels easily snap on and off as needed.
  • IATA airline approved. Includes 2 dishes, 4 live animal stickers, metal bolts and nuts, and tie down holes for bungees required by airlines.
  • Features a moat, which guides liquids to the outer edges of the kennel, keeping your pet dry.

    Very Happy with Purchase

By Karen on Nov 28, 2021

I purchased the XXXLarge crate for Sam a tall, long black lab. This crate is huge and he can stand and turn around in it. I purchased this not to use for travel but for in home use. It seems to be very solidly built and was easy to put together. I did not use the wheels, door or dishes that came with it. The door seemed very solid though. I put a 4" pad in the bottom along with his blanket and he absolutely loves his new "room". Very happy with the purchase. Thank you Chewy for having this size crate.

Measure dog and get bigger cage oops this was the largest

By Menchar on Nov 8, 2021

This travel cage looks good but with 2 locked wheels it moves around when the dog goes in/out, barks when in it or nudges it. I have a husky still growing under 50lbs. I bought the X-Large size -description was for larger dogs (gave size 60-90lbs, and it was the largest size Since my dog is smaller than size this was built for, I bought it thinking it will be roomy. It was not. In fact, he barely fits. He can not lay down without scrunching, no head room-and can barely turn around to get comfortable, The entry is too small: the hinged door takes away 2+ Inchs from the entry. the door is set in the door way - horrible idea. Maybe for a medium dog. IT IS Sturdy, love the way the top is secured This travel cage looks good but with 2 locked wheels it moves around when the dog goes in/out, barks when in it or nudges it. Needs a better “door handle” - it is tiny hard to squish to open. Lastly, my dog pushes open with constant pushing. … more

Runs Tiny; Much Smaller Than Expected

By Stefanie on Oct 26, 2021

I cannot comment on the crate's durability; I didn't even get to assembling it, because straight out of the box, it was obvious that the measurements listed on the website are misleading. I ordered this crate in size XL for an upcoming international flight with what's only a medium-sized breed, and the XL is clearly too small for my 22" tall [at the shoulders], 49 pound Australian Shepherd. The dimensions given in the description -- along with several of the reviews-- refer to the respective widest spots of the exterior. On the inside, this is NOT an extra-large carrier. Not by a long shot. The usable floor space measures only approximately 28" in length and 19" in width. Unfortunately, Chewy doesn't list interior dimensions, so I hope this will help someone else before they, too, fall for the misleading *exterior* dimensions provided in the listing. If you're generally interested in these crates, size up considerably!! Now on to the hassle of returning this. … more

    Great for the price

By Flkathy on Nov 4, 2021

I have but one small criticism. My 85lb granddaughter climbed into it after it was assembled with wheels, and she stated that the floor bows just a little. If the plastic were thicker, this wouldnt happen. If your animal is going to use it on a regular basis, just remove the wheels. Assembly was easy, even with a heavy granddaughter in it, it rolled nicely. Unless you want to spend twice this amount, its perfectly adequate.

    Tommys Travel

By FlightNanny on Oct 14, 2021

A client recently purchased this kennel for a standard labradoodle (about 55 lbs). I was surprised how easy it was to maneuver because the size XL is really big. The wheels swivel in all directions and their is a handle on each end of the kennel. The dog was quite happy in it and the wheels made it very easy for me to get through the airport with a big bulky kennel. I have a kennel of my own but am now purchasing this one as well because it is just so much nicer and easier to use than the one I currently have.

    Dog crate by SP

By Crate on Oct 19, 2021

I bought two of these crates to travel with my dogs from Seattle to Norway. They are easy to assemble (and disassemble), but are incredibly sturdy. They are okay for international travel /approved. My dogs still use them as their sleeping den, we just removed the front gate. They do need some bedding for comfort. But the manufacturer provides excellent guidance for getting the correct size for your dog. I’d recommend this crate without hesitation.

    Airline kennel dog carrer

By Emily on Dec 2, 2021

Seems sturdy and excellent though it hasn't yet stood the test of a flight. Our dog got used to it right away, once I put her regular bed inside (along with some treats).

    A-Ok for Airlines

By AirlineOK on Sep 30, 2021

I bought this XL crate to fly our 49 lb Aussie from Los Angeles to Newark so he would have plenty of room during the flight. The wheels are a HUGE selling point as this made it easy for us to wheel him beside us and our luggage while we were in line. Once TSA cleared the crate, they asked us to remove the wheels and take them with us-as their pet belt could not handle those safely. So-in the purse they went. LOVE that we could easily remove them. Otherwise we would have had to purchase one of their less sturdy crates for travel. The crate is sturdy and kept him safe for the entire flight. Great Crate

By AnnH on Sep 9, 2021

This is a really roomy crate. I do think that they run small, so I would suggest ordering up. It’s for our puppy, so we have lots of time to see if he’ll fit once he’s full grown. But it’s very well-constructed. I did have a bit of trouble with a couple of screws. I would suggest not tightening anything until all the screws are in. It’s a great crate and we’re going to use it to visit our family with our new pup.

    No issues with flying

By Scuppers on Oct 13, 2021

This crate was perfect. We flew across country with American. The crate was completely up to their standards. No modifications needed! Thank you Chewy!!!
