This static cling background is the perfect addition to bring your aquarium’s naturalistic style to the next level. Not only does it look great, but it also adds depth and dimension to your aquarium by reducing background light and clutter from the surrounding room. It will make your fish, plants, invertebrates and other accessories stand out, and also helps keep unsightly stains, electrical cords, and filters out of sight. Plus, it clings easily with no tape or adhesive needed so it’s easy to apply, and can be adjusted to most aquarium sizes. This is also great for use with aquatic turtles, aquatic amphibians, and invertebrates.

1) Thoroughly clean the mounting surface of the tank. Conventional glass cleaner may be used. However, it is very important not to spray the cleaner directly onto the tank. Always go to another room and spray the cleaner onto a paper towel and then use the towel to wipe down the outside of your aquarium or terrarium.
2) Measure the area of the aquarium or terrarium you will be covering with the static cling background. Use a measuring tape or the numbered grid on the back of the background (count both the horizontal and vertical lines). Once you have determined the size, use a sharp pair of scissors to cut along the designated gridlines, making sure to capture the portion of the image you wish to display.
3) Remove any obstructions, which might be blocking the tank surface (e.g. air pumps, thermometers) and spray a light mist of room temperature water onto the glass surface.
4) Starting at one corner, gently peel the white backing from the static cling background. With the graphic side facing up, spray a light mist on the side that will be pressed against the glass.
5) Align the top edge of the static cling background with the top edge of the tank using your hands to adhere at least the top two inches onto the glass without wrinkles. Mist the back of the static cling background and use a burnishing tool to slowly smooth out the static cling background.
6) If needed, you can repeatedly pull back and reposition the background. The background will maintain its static cling ability.
7) Once all the wrinkles and air bubbles have been removed, use a razor to remove any excess.
8) Enjoy the new atmosphere you have just created. When necessary, pull back the static cling background to remove the wrinkles. It is the best to start from the top center and push down and outwards, towards the sides, to work out all the wrinkles and air bubbles.

Went on easily. Bright colors! I like looking at it, so hopefully the aquatic animals like it too!
I'm a little surprised at how happy I am with this background. I applied it after the tank was set up with about 6" of space to work with and it wasn't too bad. My biggest advice is to REALLY spray both the tank and the vinyl. If it's hard to move, spray it some more. The color is more natural than the picture here. That didn't bother me because I have a lot of neon decorations but if you're looking for a background that really pops you might not be super happy with the color.
I have a 29 gal fish tank and this works very nice bright colors, easy to put on tank and a very good price make my tank very homey for my fish.
The view from my 'work at home' desk is of my fish tank. So after nearly a year of staring at the blank grey wall behind it, I got a background for it. What a huge difference! It makes the whole tank brighter and it was super easy to install! Thank you!
We followed the directions and have tried getting these to stick to the aquarium 3 times. We ended up using tape. They look great and fit perfectly, but I hate that you can see some of the tape holding them on.
Better than then the non adhesive types of tank decoration. Can be easily readjusted without much hassle
It’s not as bright as the photo shows and it’s not static, but tape holds it just fine
Easy to put on aquarium. This is the second one I bought, have one on my other tank also.
Bought this in size 36x18 for our 35 gallon hexagon tank, it was a a few inches too short. I put the top of the background by the top of the waterline and plan to add another inch or so of gravel to solve the problem for the bottom, It was a breeze to apply and the finished product really added a nice addition to the fish tank which hides all the wires.
I bought this background for 3 small acrylic betta tanks. It worked great. Couldn't be easier. And my Bettas seem to enjoy the change of scenery.
