For Adult dogs, feed Sport Dog Food either dry or moistened with water. Begin with the recommendations provided above and adjust to maintain body weight. We recommend feeding your dog at least twice a day. The feeding chart above is the total amount of food we recommend for the day. Divide the total by the number of feedings you will provide your dog.

Reproduction: Provide increasing amounts of food the latter half of gestation. The amount may be twice the normal intake. Feed to consumption during lactation.

Growth: Introduce dry food around the 5th week.

Always provide a source of clean fresh water. Feeding amounts listed are based on an 8 oz. standard measuring cup.

Sport Dog Food is complete and nutritionally balanced for dogs of all breeds and life stages. Keep in mind though, that our recipes are formulated for active, sporting, and working dogs which means that our formulas are more calorie-dense than your typical kibble.

If your dog is not a sporting breed but is still highly active, Sport Dog Food can provide the higher calorie content he needs to fulfill his energy requirements. If your dog is a normally active or under active breed, you should be careful to avoid overfeeding.

When changing from your current food to a Sport Dog Food formula, slowly incorporate into your dog's diet over 10-14 days.  We encourage gradually reducing current food while increasing Sport Dog Food amounts.  The amounts suggested may vary according to age, weight, temperament, activity level, breed, and surroundings.

Also keep in mind that the feeding amounts of all Sport Dog Food formulas is typically less than the average dog food on the market as our kcals per cup can be 15-25% more.

Please pay close attention to your feeding amounts.  Compare the kcals per cup to your current formula and do not overfeed.  Accidentally overfeeding is a common cause of loose stool and eventually weight gain.  Most customers have reported they are feeding much LESS than their previous formula.

Even though your dog might be eating the same protein as your previous formula, they may still need more time to gradually get used to what is NOT in our formulas. Especially the elimination of Beet Pulp, Tomato Pomace, Flax Seed and lower grade proteins like Pork.

Do Not Overfeed. Accidentally overfeeding is a common cause of loose stool and eventually weight gain.

Be sure to keep fresh water available at all times.

Transition Instructions

When switching your dog’s diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 10-14 day period.

Instructions

Sport Dog Food is naturally preserved. Keep dry kibble in a dark, dry area protected from extreme temperature swings and away from direct sunlight, Be sure to keep out of extreme heat. It is best to keep in original bag. If you use a container to store your food, please remember to wash sidewalls of any residual oil before you refill. The wrong storage container could cause a greasy film to build up on the container’s sides that will go rancid, cause the food to be distasteful and hasten food spoilage of any new food you add to the container.

    Outstanding

We have fed our pups all the top brands over the years. From Arcana to Victor with Farmina thrown in as well. We switched to Sport Dog and our Golden’s have more energy and seem to love it.

    My Dogs LOVE it!

    By on

I'm so happy I found "Sport Dog" food. A company that cares about what it puts in it's food and specializes in active dog formulas. My GSD gets so excited when the CHEWY box comes in! She can't wait for me to open the box to get her food for her! Thank you CHEWY and SPORT DOG!

    Great for my Dog!

    By on

My dog has a list of food sensitivities that is a mile long. My biggest challenges have been flax, which is in almost every other dog food created and peas since it is often a substitute for grains. Plus, no canola oil!! This food is a great limited ingredient diet that does not upset his stomach or digestive system and he likes it!

    Almost perfect

    By on

Loved the idea of this food. My dog loved it (at first) and it helped her put on some weight. Then, all of the sudden she would not go near it. I tried broth, I tried cheese, she would lap up the broth or lick the cheese off the food and ignore the kibble. My pup just doesn’t like it anymore, but otherwise was very good quality.
