For Adult dogs, feed Sport Dog Food either dry or moistened with water. Begin with the recommendations provided above and adjust to maintain body weight. We recommend feeding your dog at least twice a day. The feeding chart above is the total amount of food we recommend for the day. Divide the total by the number of feedings you will provide your dog.

Reproduction: Provide increasing amounts of food the latter half of gestation. The amount may be twice the normal intake. Feed to consumption during lactation.

Growth: Introduce dry food around the 5th week.

Always provide a source of clean fresh water. Feeding amounts listed are based on an 8 oz. standard measuring cup.

Transition Instructions

When switching your dog’s diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 10-14 day period.

My 5 year old Aussie stopped itching!

    By on

As an Aussie owner, of 4 adults and 3 pups, this is the BEST dry food I've tried in 18 years. First, all the dogs loved the flavor. Second, I noticed that, within the first month, one of my Aussies stopped itching and his coat grew back quickly. The only problem I experienced was the price.

    Switched over from Orijen

    By on

Have been feeding this for at least 2 months now. Dogs are doing just as well on it as they were with Orijen Tundra. Even the sensitive/extremely active/hard keeper. Only have had an issue with one bag. I think it somehow got packaged wrong or was the previous formula. Dogs still ate it and had minimal issues.

    Dog loves it

    By on

My dog absolutely loves this food. I switched to this one because my dog had bad gas and since switching over it is almost completely gone. I only wish it came in a slightly smaller bag. This one is a little big for me to handle.

    PERFECT FOOD !

    By on

Adopted a senior dog named Kyle. He would go lie down after he would eat the grain free Dry food. And when I would pet him he would jump from him being itchy. This food has done the Job. He loves it and no more lying down . Worth the extra $ .

    MAGIC in a bag

    By on

Loki is my 6 yr old all white XXL Bully, he was free at 1 yr old, his family was moving and couldn't take him. Historically: 110lb couch manatee, allergic to life, yeasty, breaks out at the drop of a hat (poultry, pork, white carbs, dirt, pollen, trees, grass just to name a few). After years of trying everything under the sun to mitigate his symptoms and solve/avoid reactions with holistics, meds, washes, voodoo, spells, charms, shots, offerings to all the gods and more, big gains were realized with Cytopoint shots. But the ever present challenge was a quality dry food that didn't have what he couldn't have, something that I wouldn't have to mortgage my home to buy and did have enough good stuff Loki is my 6 yr old all white XXL Bully, he was free at 1 yr old, his family was moving and couldn't take him. But the ever present challenge was a quality dry food that didn't have what he couldn't have, something that I wouldn't have to mortgage my home to buy and did have enough good stuff to properly nourish him. I've lost count how many we've tried out. Then about a month ago in my usually obsessive search for a better dog food, or area rug, or wall paper, or face cream or whatever I'm online researching while I pretend to watch Oak Island with the DH, I took a chance on SportDog Herding....what did Loki get in return? Awesomeness! That's what! The little bit of "potato" mentioned in it had me worried - but no longer. This stuff has positively impacted his life and ours in more than just digestion and no allergic reactions in the 2 weeks he's been eating it. He is Happier, Livelier, back to "wrastling" and bouncing around as a bully does, along with almost miraculous improvement in his coat and overall health. I've been more pleased with this food than anything ever. Don't dismiss it because its for "working" dogs...they should re-target their market. If you have a allergic slow moving boofer - get this. The price and product are absolutely on point. Thank you for selling this Chewy it is a veritable miracle. … more

Great for dogs with digestive issues.

    By on

I have a collie with digestive problems and a husky with EPI. Both dogs do well on the Buffalo & Sweet Potato Formula. Neither dog can digest pea protein and this is one of the few dry dog foods without it. I tried about 10 different dry foods to find a high nutrient food free of fillers like peas, corn and soy for my husky. Sport Dog Food Elite Series is the only food she can eat and is far more nutritious than the corn based diet the vet had her on.

    Great for allergies

    By on

My dog Whsikey has terrible allergies, including food allergies. It is so difficult to find foods that she can tolerate without licking her feet like crazy. This food had minimal ingredients and I’m happy to report NO MORE FOOT CHEWING or yeasty ears.

    Guide Dog School Recommended

    By on

My puppy loves this. Easy transition from his other food and he now doesn't rush wolfing down the kibble and even completely cleans his bowl. I even carry and use the kibble for the occasional and rare treat training when he needs slightly more incentive. Requires less kibble at feeding time and has produced a firmer consistent elimination. Also, very much appreciate their feeding calculator on Sport Dog Food web site. With a growing puppy his needs are ever change. You plug in the weight and exercise routine to calculate the requirements. We both love this "Made in America" product.
