For Adult dogs, feed Sport Dog Food either dry or moistened with water. Begin with the recommendations provided above and adjust to maintain body weight. We recommend feeding your dog at least twice a day. The feeding chart above is the total amount of food we recommend for the day. Divide the total by the number of feedings you will provide your dog.

Reproduction: Provide increasing amounts of food the latter half of gestation. The amount may be twice the normal intake. Feed to consumption during lactation.

Growth: Introduce dry food around the 5th week.

Always provide a source of clean fresh water. Feeding amounts listed are based on an 8 oz. standard measuring cup.

Transition Instructions

When switching your dog’s diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 10-14 day period.

    Best & underrated quality food

    By on

I have a 4 year old pit bull who is very allergic to chicken, chicken fat and peas. My vet was giving me the runaround and pumping him full of apoquel and saying his allergies where due to grass. I decided to look for a quality dog food that was actually healthy past the marketing haze. Finding food that excludes both is hard because they are the top aggregates to bump fat and protein content, manufacturers usually skimp on fish/coconut oil and premium animal protein even on quality limited protein formulas. Came about this by chance and my dog has been hot spot, waxy ears and yeast infection free. I even felt confident to take him off the medication and he has been symptom free. Good product but...

My dog loves sled dog food from sport dog. Little disappointed with date on bag though. I have a small dog and can only get in big bag so it will be out of date before she eats it all. I should have ordered direct again. It is way fresher.

    Food Allergies

    By on

Our dog has food allergies and the vet suggested to switch to and exotic food. Kangaroo is way to expensive so I found Sport Elite Bufflo and sweet potato. Not only does he love it but it has cut down on the paw licking which is what we have been concerned about.

My picky eater actually likes it!

    By on

I noticed on here a lot of people said their dogs wouldn't eat it, so I was concerned it would just be another food that sat in the bowl of our picky eater. As suggested, I mixed our old food with this food to start the transition. Usually, our Pyr/Lab/mystery breed mix is a grazer and rarely eats her food. I feed her the blend last night and she picked out all of the new kibble and left her old food. She is difficult to keep weight on because she isn't a big eater, the only thing that was working was Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete, which seems to cause some ear and skin itchiness with her. I was pleased to find a quality food without fillers that is still high calorie. Great Food

Just switched a week ago and our Labs love this new food. Their coats have improved in that short time and they also love it as a training treat. We love that it's a 30/20 safe grain free and no peas diet.

    Not for my dog

    By on

usually she likes to try new food. this one, not any interest at all. not certain how to rate it . . . . just because it wasn't for my dog, doesn't mean it couldn't be fine for yours,

    Lifesaver!

    By on

My dog has a confirmed allergy to chicken and peas. Try finding any food that doesn't have either! She was on steroids and apoquel for a year (would itch herself until she bled/became infected). I tried other 'limited ingredient' diets for 3 months at a time, and nothing seemed to help--they still had trace amounts of chicken in their food. Sport Dog Food allows me to feed my dog with NO meds. She looks fantastic, her coat is incredible, and she has plenty of energy to herd our sheep and keep training for trials. It absolutely works for us, and I couldn't be happier--in fact, my other dogs are all moving over to it as soon as I can!

    Great Food

So glad SportDogFood is available on Chewy. My Vizslas love it. They perform well on it and they don’t have to eat as much as they gave with other brands just to maintain their weight.

    Trying New Food

    By on

I have a guide dog. She doesn't love this food but she eats it. I like I can feed her less, it doesn't make her breath stink, she kind of smells like sweet potato and smaller scat pack.
