For Adult dogs, feed Sport Dog Food either dry or moistened with water. Begin with the recommendations provided above and adjust to maintain body weight. We recommend feeding your dog at least twice a day. The feeding chart above is the total amount of food we recommend for the day. Divide the total by the number of feedings you will provide your dog.

Reproduction: Provide increasing amounts of food the latter half of gestation. The amount may be twice the normal intake. Feed to consumption during lactation.

Growth: Introduce dry food around the 5th week.

Always provide a source of clean fresh water. Feeding amounts listed are based on an 8 oz. standard measuring cup.

Transition Instructions

When switching your dog’s diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 10-14 day period.

Sport Dog Food formulas are made without peas, lentils or flax to minimize the risk of allergies and inflammatory disease. Their recipes include carefully chosen ingredients that promote good heart health, strong immunity and regular digestion, so your dog can always be the best at what he does.

    Excellent kibble

By DogMom on Jan 16, 2021

Great protein / fat ratio. No grains or legumes also which is hard to find. My dog seems to love it! I like the small kibble size. Don't need to feed a lot of food for the dog to get the nutrients she needs.

    Love the Small Kibble Size

By PawterPups on Aug 19, 2020

My dogs are not picky so, unsurprisingly, they like this food. They seem to be doing just fine on it too, no GI issues adding this to their kibble rotation. I really like how little the kibble is. It's great for clicker training and scattering in a snuffle mat or in the grass.

Only 3 days in it’s too soon to evaluate how my dog will respond to this food. I am trying to elevate her itchy skin. She has no visible signs of irritation but scratches and licks more than I think is average. She had been on Zignature so be aware that an “allergy sensitive” type dog food isn’t always the answer. I chose Sport Dog Food because they are one of the few Companies that offer a legume and grain free kibble that I can afford. AND their transparency is second to none regarding their ingredients and the percentages of each. They are the only manufacture I could find that offers quality ingredients at a reasonable price point.

Since I learned of Sport Dog Food a few years ago I have used nothing else. Their ingredients are second to none in their Elite grain free line. My 6 standard poodles love the white fish and the turkey flavors. I love the fact this is a small family owned company who takes pride in quality food. Great food for the price.

    great quality food

By Coco on Feb 18, 2020

This is a wonderful quality food and I switch proteins of this same brand for my dog who has a sensitive stomach and doesn’t do well on too many fillers. He ended up not liking the whitefish protein so much so we’ll switch between the other flavors.

    Great Food

By Hudson on Nov 15, 2019

My 4 yo rottweiler has been on this food for a few months. We noticed positive changes in his coat and overall health. His stool is firm and properly colored. He eats every morsel and is always excited at his next feeding. I’m very happy with the ingredients and customer service.

Got this as an alternate to another Sport Dog variety that was out of stock. Both of our dogs like it with no reservations and their coats remain soft and shiny. We do mix with another brand that we do NOT switch off and have had coat and skin issues in the past. Fingers crossed that this mixture continues working.

    Grain-free Pea-free

By OwnedBySamandRiver on Jul 27, 2019

I have 2 Goldens who are at risk for cardiomyopathy on gluten-free kibble. Switching them to this pea-free kibble. We’re still in the transition but so far no issues. The kibble size is small and has a very slight oil feel which I think reflects the quality of ingredients. One of my cats loves it too - he begs for pieces when I am filling the dogs’ bowls.

    best dog food

By joejoe on Jul 1, 2019

I researched all dog foods to find the best for me, meaning, none of the ingredients that I want to avoid, like the cheap fillers grains, rice, by products. No canola oil or flax. No beans peas legumes, or their evil cousins. A solid food from a smaller company not the big corporations. Started feeding my dachshunds this Sporting dog and their coats cleared up. One had pimples some places in her coat, that is now gone. The dandruff she had, is now gone. I now rotate them on the different Elite series formulas. Added benefit, they eat less because it's quality, compared to the excellent choices they had before!

    Dog does great

By Sups on Jul 2, 2019

Saw this food was pea, pea starch, pea protein free. I have a 2 yr old lab/bernese/catahoula mix and be was having digestive issues and this was the only food that basically stopped his diarrhea. We tried grain and grain free and he thrives on the whitefish grain free.
