For Adult dogs, feed Sport Dog Food either dry or moistened with water. Begin with the recommendations provided above and adjust to maintain body weight. We recommend feeding your dog at least twice a day. The feeding chart above is the total amount of food we recommend for the day. Divide the total by the number of feedings you will provide your dog.

Reproduction: Provide increasing amounts of food the latter half of gestation. The amount may be twice the normal intake. Feed to consumption during lactation.

Growth: Introduce dry food around the 5th week.

Always provide a source of clean fresh water. Feeding amounts listed are based on an 8 oz. standard measuring cup.

Transition Instructions

When switching your dog’s diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 10-14 day period.

    Best Dry Food I’ve Found

    By on

I have fed my three dogs many different high quality brands of food, and none compare to Sport Dog Food Elite. I really appreciate the exact percentages of each major ingredient. All of my dogs’ overall health is the best it’s ever been. No more itching, small stools with very little odor, excellent skin and coat condition, and even improved breath. The small kibble size is very helpful, too, since one of my three fur babies is a small dog.

    Very happy with SDF

    By on

I have been feeding SDF for over a year, through some big changes in the company. Plenty of people try to avoid certain ingredients, and SDF is about the only food out there that accommodates that. But if you're looking specifically to avoid sodium selenite, which is a known carcinogen, it's nearly impossible. So THANK YOU, SDF. My dogs have tried Cub and every recipe of Elite, and they haven't met an SDF they didn't like or do well on. We appreciate the grain friendly options as well. As long as there is no sodium selenite in their food, we will keep feeding it.

    Excellent quality food

    By on

My boy is allergic to green beans, peas and carrots. Finding this food is the best thing that happened for him. The quality is fantastic and it's made in the U.S.A. I would highly recommend this food for any dog.

Fantastic! My 2.5 year Silver Lab loves it!

    By on

High quality product that avoid all the unnecessary "potentially" harmful ingredients. Nice to have for diluted Labradors who typically are a bit more sensitive to the foods they eat. He gobbles it down, and is extremely healthy! No issues whatsoever.

    Good food, small morsels

    By on

I bought this food on the recommendation of my breeder. I actually bought it for my puppy, although it seems to be an adult dog food. When I called chewy, the guy was super helpful and suggested it was actually for all life stages, with a higher protein count for puppies and active dogs. All that said, I’m still a little confused as to whether this food is for all life stages or not since we website clearly says for adults, but she’s doing really well on it, has plenty of energy and chewy has been really great to work with. I’ll def buy from chewy again.

    Great company. Great food.

    By on

White potato, flax, pea, corn, soy, and grain free... no grains, no phytoestrogens for the health of your breeding animals, and nothing thought to reduce taurine absorption while the FDA is considering a possible correlation between foods high in potatoes and legumes and taurine deficiency induced DCM.

I feel it is the best dogfood on the market. It is the only food without peas or legumes. Dogs do not need them
