For Adult dogs, feed Sport Dog Food either dry or moistened with water. Begin with the recommendations provided above and adjust to maintain body weight. We recommend feeding your dog at least twice a day. The feeding chart above is the total amount of food we recommend for the day. Divide the total by the number of feedings you will provide your dog.
Reproduction: Provide increasing amounts of food the latter half of gestation. The amount may be twice the normal intake. Feed to consumption during lactation.
Growth: Introduce dry food around the 5th week.
Always provide a source of clean fresh water. Feeding amounts listed are based on an 8 oz. standard measuring cup.
Sport Dog Food is complete and nutritionally balanced for dogs of all breeds and life stages. Keep in mind though, that our recipes are formulated for active, sporting, and working dogs which means that our formulas are more calorie-dense than your typical kibble.
If your dog is not a sporting breed but is still highly active, Sport Dog Food can provide the higher calorie content he needs to fulfill his energy requirements. If your dog is a normally active or under active breed, you should be careful to avoid overfeeding.
When changing from your current food to a Sport Dog Food formula, slowly incorporate into your dog's diet over 10-14 days. We encourage gradually reducing current food while increasing Sport Dog Food amounts. The amounts suggested may vary according to age, weight, temperament, activity level, breed, and surroundings.
Also keep in mind that the feeding amounts of all Sport Dog Food formulas is typically less than the average dog food on the market as our kcals per cup can be 15-25% more.
Please pay close attention to your feeding amounts. Compare the kcals per cup to your current formula and do not overfeed. Accidentally overfeeding is a common cause of loose stool and eventually weight gain. Most customers have reported they are feeding much LESS than their previous formula.
Even though your dog might be eating the same protein as your previous formula, they may still need more time to gradually get used to what is NOT in our formulas. Especially the elimination of Beet Pulp, Tomato Pomace, Flax Seed and lower grade proteins like Pork.
Do Not Overfeed. Accidentally overfeeding is a common cause of loose stool and eventually weight gain.
Be sure to keep fresh water available at all times.
When switching your dog’s diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 10-14 day period.
Sport Dog Food is naturally preserved. Keep dry kibble in a dark, dry area protected from extreme temperature swings and away from direct sunlight, Be sure to keep out of extreme heat. It is best to keep in original bag. If you use a container to store your food, please remember to wash sidewalls of any residual oil before you refill. The wrong storage container could cause a greasy film to build up on the container’s sides that will go rancid, cause the food to be distasteful and hasten food spoilage of any new food you add to the container.

Truly Unique Dog Food
Sport Dog Food formulas are made without peas, lentils or flax to minimize the risk of allergies and inflammatory disease. Their recipes include carefully chosen ingredients that promote good heart health, strong immunity and regular digestion, so your dog can always be the best at what he does.

Cold-pressed Wild Norwegian Salmon Oil in every recipe supplies high levels of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids as well as healthy fat to fuel vigorous exercise. It nourishes a healthy coat and skin to help protect your dog from the elements and helps control inflammation to aid muscle recovery after hard work. You’ll see the difference in his shiny coat and unflagging energy!

No peas, legumes, grains!
By Ceory on Aug 18, 2019
My Briard puppy loves it. He’s 8 months old. He started having really loose stools after being on it for a bit, we weren’t sure if it was the food or something else. The company was fabulous and sent us different samples to try, but we didn’t even get to those yet bc his issue seemed to resolve on its own and we’ve continued food. They’ve sent follow up email and postcard and were very helpful when I initially called. Great company!

Great food but....
By Critters5 on Aug 6, 2019
My 3 Golden’s really like this food and it is really a great food but a good food does you no good when it is temporarily unavailable constantly. The company really needs to work on keeping up with demand. I can’t keep switching my dogs back and forth constantly.

Great Product, Great Company
By AdventureFam on May 12, 2019
I've been using Sport Dog food for our German Shorthaired pointer for over a year now, and it's great. We feed him about half as much as other brands, which makes up for the price. Less poo to clean up, and a healthy, active, shiny coated pup. Our dog is a self feeder, so his bowl always has food in it. At 45#, he is eating somewhere between 1.5-2 cups per day. Also- this company had a shortage of product a while back, and they were very transparent with the fact that they were looking for a new processing facility that could provide the quality they demanded, and offered a discount once they were back to production. Great family owned company.

Love it when it’s available
By Gryphon on Aug 5, 2019
I love Sport Dog but I got frustrated with the formula I wanted not being available when I needed it. This would force me to buy the more expensive formula so I decided to find a new brand. Great food just not available when I need it.

made the switch no peas
By Rocco on Apr 16, 2019
We made the switch to get off a high legume kibble to this. My only issue I have is the kibble is so small for my Great Dane mix. He will still eat it but still. Also I wish they had more proteins in this line. We are used to purchasing a different protein each month and now that we made this switch I can’t change things up for him since the k9 series is the only kind we can use due to allergies. I also not sure why each kibble looks like bits of yellow in them. Even the samples are the same texture. Overall it’s better kibble than others we looked at and great for the price

My dogs seem to like it
By Ashley on May 11, 2019
It's hard to find a grain free dog food with no legumes! So when I came across this one, I was pleased!! Specially with how long it will last my pups, I feed my dogs according to their feeding recommendations on their actual website, because the company told me to follow it to a T and to NOT overfeed them. So far, really good!

Picky GSD loves this food.
By valerie on Apr 24, 2019
My very picky GSD would never eat dry food by itself, i aleays had to b put goodies in it for her to eat.. She gobbles this food right up. Cleaned her bowl 3 nights in a row. Ive tried a lot of different brands of food. I have 3 GSD and this food is resonable priced for the amount in the bag and it has good ingrediants. Still transitioning from the old food but so far so good.

Lab with severe food allergies
By Melanie on Apr 30, 2019
I have a 21 month old lab service dog that has severe food allergies and over producing of yeast and I struggled for days to find a food he can eat and this is the only thing I found that meets his food allergy needs. My only problem is he only poops once a day usually around 6 am and won’t go again until 6 the next morning

Switched due to Formula Change
By FritzMom on Jun 13, 2019
Switched to this food due to a formula change on a different brand. Dogs transitioned well, without side affects and love the food.
