    Wont hold charge

    By MrReturn50Orders on Apr 26, 2021

When I first got it I realised it will only administer 1 or 2 shocks before going completely dead. Now I take it off the charger and test it on myself on the highest setting and it barely sends a charge at all. Highly disappointing and a waste of my time. This is the second collar that has been pathetically weak and my dog still isnt trained.

    Not great for long hair

By Alicia on Mar 29, 2021

Our Tamaskan has long hair and once she grew to her adult size and lost her shorter/thinner puppy hair, the collar only delivers a shock 25% of the time since it needs to contact skin to deliver the shock. It was amazing at first and really helped with training, but now is super hard to reinforce negative behaviors because it doesn't always shock. Unfortunately we are past the 30 day return policy. I'd recommend a brand that has a specific long hair attachment, not just the longer prongs like this brand because those don't make a difference.

Stopped Working After 2 Days, SportDog Has Great Customer Service - WILL UPDATE

By Emmd on Feb 26, 2021

I've had a sport dog collar in the past that I absolutely loved, and so did my GSP. I forget which model it was, but it worked for years and allowed my pointer, who typically off leash becomes too distracted, but the SportDog collar was able to keep him on task and in control. I just purchased this collar for my lab/rot mix, who's been previously trained on an E-Collar. The first two days were great! We had no problems with the collar, and were able to find the stimulation level that best suited him easily. However, on the third day, we started experiencing issues. First, the tone seemed to stop working, as well as any stimulation unless within a foot. And then, on the off chance the stimulation I've had a sport dog collar in the past that I absolutely loved, and so did my GSP. First, the tone seemed to stop working, as well as any stimulation unless within a foot. And then, on the off chance the stimulation did work, it seemed that the level was wayyyy too high, and my dog vocalized because of it, something that's never happened before because of proper introduction and training with the collars. I immediately took it off, played around with it once we got home, and called SportDog. The representative I spoke to was very nice and also seemed concerned about the product I ordered, and immediately sent out a new one in the mail to me, with a quick shipping method. I've used these collars in the past, and never had a problem. I will be updating this review after the new collar comes, and proves its not a dud! … more

    Not that great

By Eric on Mar 7, 2021

I had a similar model as before and liked it, this one will not vibrate at all, the beep from the collar is so quiet you can barley hear it, so when my dog is running in the woods we cannot hear the sound.

    This thing works!

By JHemi on Nov 6, 2020

I have owned this collar for about 8 years and used it on multiple dogs. Only had to give each dog one shock at a minimal level and after that just used tones or vibration and they respond immediately. After some time and training the dogs are completely trained without the need of the collar and respond to voice commands. I feel that any body that gives this product a negative review hasn't spent time trying to train their dog. Thumbs up all the way!

    disappointed

By DogMom on Oct 28, 2020

I have purchased a couple of these collars in the past and had no problems. However, when I received this one, the only thing that it would do is to beep. There was no vibration or shock working. Had to return and still haven't gotten my refund.

Okay but higher model is better

By Lora on Jul 19, 2020

This item is not bad, does it’s job but I had the model above it and liked it a lot better. The thing I don’t like about this one is that you have to change the dial to get from tone to vibrate/static. With the higher model you can keep the dial the same and just use the buttons. This makes it much nicer when you only have one hand available. If I had to do it again I would buy the model above this one. Otherwise works great.

    Does everything but...

By ColoDon on Jan 26, 2020

I wanted a correction collar that does all three stimuli: tone, vibrate, and electric (nick and constant). This does all three, and there are three different buttons. You program the transponder to set the buttons to activate the different stimuli. Unfortunately, you cannot activate all three types of stimuli for the three buttons using a single program setting. Other than that, it is well made and works well.

    Great product!

By Kitty on Feb 19, 2020

I’ve had other trainers like this in the past, but this is the easiest to use. You don’t have to look at the control to up the impulse if it’s needed. Highly recommend!
