Does this collar work without internet

This system does not require internet. The handheld device receives your location from its built-in GPS antenna and receives location updates from the GPS antenna mounted on the collar to track the location of your dog. The handheld device sends a signal, activating the E-Collar Module.

The SportDOG TEK Series 1.5 GPS Dog Tracking System uses three constellations of satellites and HopTek technology to maximize the tracking speed and accuracy of the collar. GPS accuracy can get as accurate as 7ft radius in open sky.
How accurate is this. Can I, for instance, find my dog in a 40 acre field of high weeds up to within 10 feet? If not, what is the plus/minus accuracy?

This unit is designed to communicate with the TEK 2.0 collars to help you locate your dog within a 7 mile range and is accurate within 15 feet.
Can you create geofences for areas for your dog to stay within?

The TEK 1.5 does not feature the Geofencing capability. For that, we would recommend "SportDOG TEK Series 2.0 GPS Dog Collar." Keep in mind, the Geofence feature is not a containment system. The Geofence can create boundaries in case a dog goes into an unwanted area while on a hunt, but the collar does not activate automatically. In this situation, the receiver collar simply notifies the handheld that a dog has gone into an unwanted area.
