Pregnant and lactating female dogs will require 2 - 3 times as much food as Adult feeding guidelines shown. Puppies start to eat solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age and should have free access to solid food from this time until weaning.
On days 1 & 2 of the change, you should have plenty of your pets old food left. Fill the bowl with 3 quarters of the old food, and one quarter of SPORTMiX Wholesomes. On days 3 & 4, add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half SPORTMiX Wholesomes. On days 5 & 6, mix one quarter old food and 3 quarters SPORTMiX Wholesomes. In only 7 days, your pet will be on an all-new diet of SPORTMiX Wholesomes.

brand had a recall
By csjs on Jan 2, 2021
Two days ago read that sportmix was recalling some of their dog food and cat food. The bag I bought was not included in the recall at this time but I do not trust it and will not be feeding this bag to my dog, nor will I buy it again.

Food Allergies
By GrizzlysMom on Jul 5, 2020
I spent over a year going through countless other dog foods with my Tibetan Mastiff. He had many food allergies that even limited ingredients formulas bothered him. I also want to mention he was a VERY picky eater and quickly got bored with other kibbles, but continued to like this one. Definitely recommend!

2 paws up! Our GSD’s approve!
By MattL on May 20, 2020
We rotate the different flavors each month (beef, chicken, and fish). Each dog eats 2.5-3 cups a day. The 35lb bag lasts one month for each dog.(6month old 75lbs and 2.5 yr old 80lbs German Shepherds). Previously we used puppy iams for puppy stage then this from then out. Our older dog has sensitive stomach and this food seems to digest great with both of them consistently. This food has solved so many issues it’s crazy what just switching foods can do. Highly recommended from Bear and Moose!

Great food
By Blue on Nov 29, 2019
Switched to Sportmix Wholesomes and my doggie's chin ache and hot spots were already getting better within the first couple days. My dog loves this food and she has regular bathroom habits as well. Will continue to buy and keep her happy.

Good stuff!

I cook a high protein mix with good quality long grain brown rice (the rice 1 week/month) to mix with this kibble.

a great choice
By Boxermom on Jul 5, 2019
This good has literally been a godsend for my pups! My boxer has environmental, seasonal, food, even human allergies. I tried so many foods looking for something that would agree with my highly sensitive boxer. Once I found this blend I instantly noticed a difference in her coat and I was able to take her off her monthly steroid allergy injection. My labs were overweight and lethargic, now they have increased energy and have skimmed down. I highly recommend this food

A good food, a matter of taste
By Abbey on Jun 24, 2019
I wanted to try something different. I usually feed my dogs LTD food. This was good, but they like their old food better. Now my son's dogs inhaled the bowls I offered them. They are a fan of this dry food.

I LOVE Chewy!!
By Doglover on Mar 24, 2019
I have been going through figuring out what my dogs are allergic to for some time now, trying elimination diet. Along with this Beef based food I also had ordered the Sportmix Whitefish and American Journey Duck. I fed the duck and whitefish for a few weeks and they are doing so much better! I have a feeling it was the beef based foods I have been feeding that they are sensitive to. I called Chewy and they are refunding me for the bag of Beef based food! Told me to just donate it to a shelter or rescue, which I will gladly do! How awesome! This isn't the first time they have given a refund for food my allergy dogs can not tolerate. My dogs can not tolerate Chicken or Lamb either. Chewy has made I have been going through figuring out what my dogs are allergic to for some time now, trying elimination diet. Chewy has made it possible for me to afford an elimination diet without going broke and running out of dog food from nit being able to feed certain proteins. Chewy rocks! They CARE about our pets. THANK YOU CHEWY!! As for rating this Sportmix Wholesomes, I still give it a 5 star. It is quality food that doesn't break the bank. My girls are doing great on the Sportmix Whitefish. (and also American Journey Duck) It's the beef they have a problem with, not the brand or other ingredients … more
