Good Food - Cats like it and good price
This is a good budget friendly food that also has higher quality ingredients. Overall, the cats like it and there are no weird ingredients besides chicken meal which only sounds bad but is really just chicken (besides intestines, head, feathers, and feet) ground up so not actually bad. Took 1 star off for 2 reasons: 1) Salmon Oil - shockingly, a lot of cats are actually allergic or have sensitivities against fish, including 1 of my cats, and this food has the perfect makings of a completely fish-free cat food except the salmon oil. I really hope the brand replaces the salmon oil with a fish-free alternative. 2) We all know that cats don't need grains and the flavor just says brown rice, but the 3rd and 4th ingredients are brown rice and white rice. It isn't that big of a deal, but I feel like putting brown rice on the packaging is just a marketing gimmick to make people think it is healthier (white rice is actually easier to digest so since cats don't actually need grains it could even be better for them)
So far so good
I almost didn't buy this food because it is new and has very little in the way of reviews anywhere. So far, I'm glad I did - my house currently hosts three full time cats and two fosters, from 5 to 20 years old, all of which have different special needs and requirements to keep living their fullest cat life - I have just about everything, two FIV+ with seizures, two with severe food allergies, one with kidney disease and cancer... and trying to find a "one-kind-fits-all" cat food that everyone will actually eat is just about impossible. So far, this fits the bill and I am on my third bag - there's less vomit, less itching, less ear yeast, less runny poo, less constipation, and though they would all prefer the cheaper, smelly dry food with lots of oily flavor sprayed on it, they eat this a lot more willingly than they do all the more expensive hypoallergenic and/or speciality foods I've tried. So long as you don't have a cat with chicken allergies, this is a good, simple food that doesn't have a bunch of stuff in it. And though it would be nice to have less rice, there is no ideal dry food in my experience - it all has something "not carnivore friendly" in it - I really don't see where its any better for a cat to have "grain-free" food filled with peas or fruit or squash (or any number of other things cats wouldn't choose to eat) instead of a bland grain. This food plus three small wet food meals a day works for my cats - I hope it continues to and gains enough popularity to stay available.
