Description

Prevent squirrels from freeloading on your bird feed with the Squirrel-X by More Birds X5 Squirrel Resistant Bird Feeder. This metal feeder features a spring-loaded design that instantly shuts every port if a squirrel’s weight is detected on any of the six perches, you can even adjust the central tension spring post to keep bully birds off the feeder! Your beaked buddies can sit, stay and relax on one of the comfortable, round perches that’s been oil-rubbed with a beautiful bronze finish. To clean the feeder simply disassemble it into three pieces, and to refill it easily remove the push-and twist-metal locking lid. The extra tall tube design prevents squirrels from accessing the seed ports from the roof, while the built-in baffle keeps moisture out of the seeds for ideal freshness.

Key Benefits
  • Features an adjustable central tension spring post that allows you to choose the size of bird that enjoys your feeder.
  • If a squirrel or larger bird attempts to break into the accessory, his weight will shut every port to prevent him from eating the feed.
  • Includes 6 rounded comfort perches that can change in length to best suit the birds you are trying to attract.
  • Disassembles into 3 sections for no-hassle cleaning.
  • Crafted in a durable metal, die-cast frame that’s been finished with a beautiful bronze color.

    Works for Pigeons

By Marty on Oct 1, 2021

I bought this feeder to deter pigeons from coming to my yard and eating all my bird food, and it works! I think the reason is because of the placement of the perches and feeding ports. I think that the ports would close if a pigeon tried to feed from it, but I've never seen one even try. I've seen 4 finches/sparrows feed at the same time, without any problem. Pigeons still feed off the ground from the spillage from time to time, but I don't mind that, and the pigeons are much less numerous in my yard now. With regard to some comments that I saw on this site, the perches are made of metal, not plastic, and there is no reason to believe that my feeder will not last for years. Broke by the birds

By Skiebird on Sep 5, 2021

It was working great until one day I found the tension screw on the ground and no way to reconnect without taking it totally apart. Which I did and finally got the screw back. But the spring won’t go back where it was and it is in many pieces on my deck. I spent over two hours repositioning and rescrewing tiny screws to no avail. No instructions so I’m out serious money and my birds are hungry.

    Frustrating birdfeeder

By Beelzebub on May 21, 2021

The birdfeeder is extremely well made, frustrates squirrels but birds seem to be avoiding it. I had a plastic feeder (from Audubon) that had to be refilled once a day. Had finches, cardinals, bluejays, doves and other birds constantly on the perches and feeding beneath it. That's ended, just an occasional finch or sparrow and that's it. Been over a week and still 3/4 full.

    I guess we’ll see

By Willow on Apr 18, 2021

For the price, I thought there would be less plastic and more metal used in key wearing points. I have a competing product that is much sturdier, and they have sent replacement parts, when needed, free of cost. I am doubtful this product can withstand as much routine wear and tear, and the plastic parts I anticipate will break, can’t be merely replaced. For $52 I had hoped for a sturdier feeder.

    Squirrel X 5

By feeders on Jun 5, 2021

I have had this feeder for 2 days and true the squirrels can't get the seeds but they have broken 3 of the 6 perches. Would not recommend at all and especially at this price. What a disappointment

    Well built

By DeeDee on Mar 20, 2021

The bird are slowly getting use to the new feeder. The Squirrels can’t seem to get down to the food. I use a wire Pants hanger from the dry cleaners, and hook it to the wire on the feeder. So so far so good, It has only been a week or so.

Highly Recommend but could be made better

By jbjurstrom on Feb 18, 2021

Best I've found to prevent squirrels from getting food. They have tried!! I love the adjustable bird stands that pull out for larger birds. Birds love it. I do through out some nuts on the other side of the deck so squirrels tend to go there but still try to feeder.. no luck

    Birds Love It, Squirrels Baffled!

By SWMBO on Sep 9, 2020

We bought this and another model feeder knowing that we have a squirrel in residence out back. While it took the birds a couple of days to warm up to this model, we have a great video of the squirrel being defeated in his effort to get a snack.
