Feeding Instructions

Weigh the amount of forage provided to each horse to ensure you are feeding the proper amount.

Feeding some long-stem forage (hay) may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices.

Horses that have dental problems or for horses that aggressively consume their feed, Standlee Premium pellets are recommended to be fed wet, soaked in water for 30 minutes or until properly softened.

Never feed moldy or insect infested forage to horses.

Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water.

Transition Instructions

Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee Forage over a 7-10 day period. Replace existing hay on a 1 to 1 basis with Standlee Forage.

This product is great we have an older horse with arthritis and has limited grazing days . The cubes are keeping the weight on him.

    Ok cubes...

    By on

Besides the awesome fact of getting your hay shipped to you in two days-these are not the best on the market. They are very very very dusty. A lot of the cubes are broken down too. I love the convenience of getting them delivered and the cost is great too, but will only use these in ICE. I hope Chewys explores and starts to offer other brands soon.

    Molded before opening

    By on

We ordered 2 packages and kept them inside. The first package molded before we could use it all and the second was molded when we opened it a month later.

    Rock like alfalfa cubes

    By on

I’ve been feeding my horse alfalfa cubes (soaked) and he loves them. I switched to this brand for convenience as I could order them. Couldn’t be more disappointed. The cubes are so hard that no amount of soaking makes them edible for my horse. The cubes are so hard, in fact, that after soaking a bucketful for over 2 hours I still couldn’t even break most of the cubes in half or into smaller pieces by hand. Horse wouldn’t and couldn’t eat them. I just switched back to my previous brand and what a difference! Giving two stars rather than one, as I would still recommend Chewy.

    Rock hard cubes

    By on

I switched to this brand for convenience to add to my regular chewy orders. Quality seems good but unfortunately a huge inconvenience that after soaking them all day, I find myself having to go into the bucket to break apart still dry cubes before feeding. They are solid rocks. Bummed out.

    Standlee Hay Cubes

    By on

Many bags are full of chaff, and the quality is inconsistent. I feed other brands of hay cubes, but ordered these for convenience. They have an odor that is peculiar compared to other products I use. Not sure if it’s a preservative or if it’s a binding agent. The bags do not have a tear strip like most feed bags for easy access. You have to grab scissors and cut them open. The bags are also super slick compared to other feed bags making them more difficult to handle. Chewy, if you get a large order in bulk, it would be a nice option to find a carrier to ship the merchandise on shrink wrapped pallets instead of 50 individual boxes? Also, please incentivize large orders with additional Many bags are full of chaff, and the quality is inconsistent. I feed other brands of hay cubes, but ordered these for convenience. Goats aren’t a fan

    By on

Bought for my goats. They eat anything- seriously- but they won’t eat these! Dry, smashed, even soaked in molasses water. They won’t touch them. Will offer them to my horses, hopefully they eat them!
