Standlee Premium Western Forage Alfalfa can be fed to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, and other herbivores. Feed Standlee Premium Alfalfa, along with the vitamin and mineral fortified feed specific to these animals, to meet essential nutrient requirements. Standlee Premium Alfalfa forage can be fed at a minimum rate equal to 20% of the total diet. Free choice feeding may be offered, but Standlee Premium Alfalfa is NOT intended to be the only component of the diet. Place forage in a hopper, bin, or loose. Remove any uneaten forage if it becomes wet, damp, or soiled. Always provide clean, fresh water daily. Store forage in a cool, dry place. Reclose after each use.

Soooo much dust

I got the 25lb box, hoping the positive reviews would be right. Unfortunately, the majority of the box was unusable. It was nicely green and fragrant, but it was mostly packed leaf dust. I added a pic to show what I’m talking about. We’ve made due with it but I want it understood that the entire box was like that, not just the bottom. Just a note: This was for 3 baby bunnies as they need the extra calories that alfalfa hay provides for growth until they are 6-7 months old.

Smells so good and so green!

I've only recently became a Bun Mom and bought my first round of hay from my local TSC. Well, I of course went to Chewy for my replacement hay once I started getting low and to my excitement this hay is SO much better than the TSC hay. It is so green, fragrant and so conveniently delivered to my door. This will be the hay I go to throughout the rest of my bunny's life.

My 9 Guinea pigs refuse this item

I’m not sure what it is but all 9 of my Guinea pigs won’t touch this stuff, it’s also extremely dusty & loose. I’m highly unimpressed with the item & the cost of the item to not use it or have any chance to get a refund or some sort of coupon

This is the BEST ALFALFA Hay we have ever purchased! Such great quality and very very fresh! It smells amazing like it was just cut, and my little bunnies just Love it! Alfalfa is BEST for baby bunnies!! :) I give this as a treat for my adult bunny.

Great hay but...

This is great hay however should not be given regularly as it is very high in calcium and other minerals and vitamins. This should definitely be more of a treat hay just like the botanical hay. Timothy hay should be the staple of any small animals diet that requires hay. Orchard hay mixed in with timothy isn't that bad either. Again this is great hay just shouldn't be given regularly to our small pets.

Super dirty and dusty. Just crumbles and stalks. I bought this for young rabbits but honestly I am going to just toss it. It’s the worst boxed hay I have ever bought

Hay is fresh and green, much better than the other brands we've tried. I use this as a topping or treat only. Both my rabbits gobble it up immediately!! Highly recommend. Great price too.

I ordered the 10 LB box and wow!! It’s the best hay I’ve ever bought for my rabbit. She was eating Kaytee and Oxbow but this is my new go to!! It’s not dusty, it’s easy to get out, and it smells so fresh and amazing! My rabbit dug right in and usually she wouldn’t eat her hay she’d just toss it to the back of her cage and use it as litter. This stuff she hasn’t stopped eating yet. Thank you Standlee!!
