  • No molasses beet pulp shreds

    By on

Now depending on your needs this is a bonus or a take away. If you have a starch sentive/obese horse this is your go to; if not the lack of molasses may be a minus from a loss of palatability, extra calories and tends to be a bit more dusty. For my mare that needs all the calories she can get it’s minus for me, but it works in a pinch, she’s not particularly picky. The shreds soak more easily and mix better with other grain feed. I can get a bigger bag with molasses for cheaper at a local store so this is a back up for me.

  • Pulp Inconsistency

    By on

I love the convenience of having this beet pulp delivered and that it contains no molasses. I have ordered several times but this last batch of several bags was more like powder than shreds. One other reviewer suggested that these may be seconds but it may be lack of quality control. My little horse didn't seem to mind the difference.

  • Put weight on my senior!

    By on

I have a 25 year old mustang who needs weight. He's been on this shredded beet pulp for a week and a half and I have already seen a difference. His manure is a bit runny ( this may not be from the change in his diet) but I will watch him close. Was very pleased with shipping and chewy is always easy to work with! Be sure to SOAK IT B4 FEEDING!!!!! Horses can choke easily on dry beet pulp. I recommend soaking it for a minimum of 15 minutes. Very happy!

  • Great product

    By on

I give my endurance horse beet pulp shreds everyday, moistened and mixed with her other (not many) supplements. It is great to keep her gut moving and is a superb source of fiber. I ONLY buy products without molasses as that has been shown to be detrimental even in small quantities. Standlees shreds are always consistent. Little to no dust or debris.

  • Super convenient shopping for my Horse

    By on

I go through a lot of beet pulp on my farm and I'm SO happy Chewy has started offering more products for horses, especially from Standlee, a company I trust. They ship it in a single box keeping all the shreds from being bashed around and turning into dust in the bag. With Autoship and the discount it still costs less than if I traveled to my local feed store. Thank you!

  • Great for Alpaca Supplemental Feed

    By on

At the end of the summer, when the grass is dead, we use these shreds, soaked in a little water, to give our alpacas a little extra nutrition outside of their hay and feed. We prefer these shreds to the beet pellets, as they don't disintegrate in water.

  • Great product at a great price

    By on

Decided to change my OTTB mare's diet a little bit heading into winter, I already order her balancer off here so was very happy to see they are offering more horse feed at a very competitive price. My mare gobbles this up soaked with her other feed.

  • good product

    By on

I've always use beet pulp pellets in the past, but decided to try these because they were at a better price than the local store. They soak faster than the pellets and the shipping was quick.
