At first glance, this slow feeder looks like a great idea, and it is unless your cat likes to chew. This is flimsy enough to be chewed off and eaten (as are most silicone slow feeders I've seen). The pointy ears on this particular feeder are a choking/intestinal blocking hazard and should be taken off the market. $1400.00 later and my boy is ok. Chewy refunded the amount of the feeder.
I purchased this product in May 2023. My cat destroyed it the first time using it. The material is too flimsy to be used with food; hungry animals can easily tear through the mat. Fast forward to this week, September 2023, over 4 months later. My cat has a mystery ailment. An ultrasound at the ER vet revealed two obstructions - one in the stomach and the other in the intestine - requiring surgery. Post-surgery, the surgeon provided the retrieved objects - the tips of the ears from this mat! This product can be unsafe! It is not worth the life-threatening harm to your animals, the hefty expense from emergency surgery, or the overall distress and disruption.
Great for wet food or peanut butter. I wouldn't say this makes him eat much more slowly but it's a good match to put a treat or meal on. And it's great for the price it's baby Yoda-- very cute!
I bought this mat to help slow my cat down when he was eating. Unfortunately, he discovered that he could chew off the soft rubber ears and swallowed one. It led to an emergency vet visit and then a surgery for a foreign body blockage. If it’s soft enough to bite off and swallow how is that a good mat for cats to eat off of? This needs to be taken off the market.
Our food-motivated pup adores this lick mat and will go at it for over half an hour! We typically crush up kibble and treats into it, sprinkle a little water to get them soggy, and freeze. If we add too much water, our pup just pops out the kibbly ice chips! I also appreciate how the mat is easy to dishwash or handwash.
This lick mat kept my Goblin Girl busy for over an hour on this rainy Saturday. I’m so glad we found the lick mat! She loves it!
He was destroying his dinner in 5 minutes not it is 15-20 and no upset stomach ! Great product and happy we bought it.
It’s a nice size for small and big dogs, and it seems pretty durable. My dog didn’t lick every last hit of peanut butter so I had to soak it to get it out of the nooks and crannies. It attracted a lot of ants in the process. Great, but maybe not for summer.
My dog is a licker and she loves this mat. It is a perfect size and the backing clings perfectly to ours floors, keeping it from moving around. My only issue it is that food can get stuck in some areas and t is difficult to clean. But it is a great product at a great price, would recommend.
My cat is picky, so I'm always hesitant to buy things for him. The only treat he enjoys is churu, and he is an excessive groomer, so this seemed like the perfect way to serve it, and it is! He loves it! I was hoping that it might cut down on his grooming a bit, and I think if we used it more regularly it might. I haven't put it in the dishwasher yet because it's easy enough to just rinse it, but it feels like it would be sturdy enough, and it's standing up to my cat as well. Plus it's cheap and cute!
